Wow!  Throwing a shoe at werewolf.  Gotta love little Dean for trying to save his dad.

Great story!  I love the personal details, like Dean stroking Sam's hair to help him sleep.

loved the insight... and... the John's line 'Dude, I'm thirty-six.  I don't need looking out for"... reminded me of Dean's comment to Sam in the Pilot...xx

I wanted to draw the connection between the pilot and this story. When I figured out the math on how old John would be, I literally squealed when I found out he would be thirty-six - only ten years older than when Dean said it. I just had to put that line in - it was destiny.
