Oh, wow, ciel! That was wonderful. I love the connection you made between Dean and the empaths. I would love to see canon Sam make the connection and see all the things Dean has done and acknowledge it. Very creative, too, the whole curse thing.

In fact this whole fic grew out of my fanatical desire to see Sam muscle up a bit in defense of his brother! We can hope, I guess, and in the meantime.... we can write it for ourselves!

I like that Sam is the one kicking ass. Sam rarely gets to kick ass, since he's the psycho psychic boy! Love that you're having Sam get retribution. Of course, it would be fun to see Bobby and Jim do that, too...maybe they can have an Uncle Davis ass-kicking fest...!!!

Oh wow. Poor Dean! This is incredibly sad and makes me very appreciative of Bobby and Sam. I like how you turned it around: instead of Dean protecting Sam, now Sam is sort of protecting Dean. Makes a difference, brings out lots of interesting aspects...and protective Bobby! Love that guy...really, you're making them very dimensional!

Another great chapter! I love Bobby in the story but I agree that it should be Sam going to "talk" to the bad guy. He was there as a child, even if not as an eye-witness. Dean always gives everything for his little brother, now Sam wants to be the protector. I love this story. Thanks for the great work ciel!
Author's Response: I must admit that this whole story came out of my rabid desire to see Sam be protective towards Dean ... since we so often see it the other way around! Glad you agreed that it should be Sam rather than Bobby who got to right the wrong.

So satisfying! Loved the end quote - how apt. And these lines in particular really spoke to me: He tweezed out every barb, sanded over every rough spot and plastered every nick in Sam's psyche caused by careless, unkind, unfriendly or threatening words or looks. Dean might not do chick flick moments, but he sure did emotional barricading – on a monumental scale. How had Dean known how important that would be to Sam's wellbeing – even when he was just a kid himself? It took Sam's breath away. Every scrape, scar, lump, bruise, welt, cut and scratch Dean gained in defense of his brother was a stamp of love. But so was every smile, every wink, and every nudge with a shoulder; every insult borne, every responsibility accepted, every time Dean shouted his name in warning, every time his brother was overwhelmed with relief to see him safe, every time Dean let him go and come back again. That last bit brought tears to my eyes. And I loved the way Sam handled the uncle. Revenge, Sammy style. So glad I found this story. Beautiful.

Wow, What a Great ending for the story. I enjoyed reading it and will start reading Crux today. The story made me laugh at some parts, angry at other parts as to wanting to be the one to snap on Davis and wanting to cry by the end (would have cried if my sister and boyfriend werent home). Thanks for writing such a good story and allowing us to read it!

That was amazing! I loved the way you described Sam gaining a better understanding of his "scary big brother". The idea that although Dean does not do Chick Flick moments, he expresses his love for his brother through the human shield he forms for Sam, was touching. Can't wait for the next one Ciel!l

awww..that was sweet....and Davis got wat was coming to him!!! I guess I was right about Bobby hiding under the couch...that moment at the 'lake'..awww...that was a great ending..and for the hugs..I think the best way is just to dive at him before he can say anything or when he's not looking...they shall be surprise hugs!!
