Wow! Vwery thought-provoking. Not only do you have us wondering who but that leads us to certain lines with specific episodes and situations. I think it's Dean but it could be Bobby or John or Sam. It all seems so sad until you put "even God likes a good laugh". That line hit me as incredibly cruel. Imagining God laughing at His child's misery and desperation is wrong in so many ways.
"And hope> It's all I have left." The situation is obviously dire but with different people 'wer're screwed' factor can sky rocket.
Author's Response: Thanks you so much for your review, Shannandoah (my niece's name). It is indeed about Dean but John, Bobby and Sam are such integral parts of him that all their experiences overlap for the most part. As for the “even God likes a good laugh” quote I think that Dean is such a pragmatist that after all that’s happened to him it pretty much sums up his faith in God or lack there of.
