Hey, great job! Only thing I have for feedback is whatch those redundant apostrophes...otherwise, very well done!!

Author's Response:

Thank you for your comments, I must admit I had to Google 'redundant apostrophes' I will have a look now to see what you mean.  The perils of not having a Beta hey! lol

I will watch out for them in the future.

OMG!  I just loved that!!  I appreciated Rufus still hanging around Bobby's noggin to help him find a way to get to consciousness.  Bobby's images of yound Sam and dean were endearing.  And the Rumsfeld twist at the end: perfect!

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for leaving a review and the stars (love those stars! lol) I was a little late with this as a Christmas story but I guess it works well enough - Rumsfeld I have guessed may have been an old dog when he got gotted by Meg! So it would be quite plausible in a time line to acquire him when the boys were younger.

Thank you again and Happy New Year

This was a great story, and set just before Christmas, a wonderful post-holiday treat. You did a marvelous job of capturing Bobby's voice and attitude and the boys were young Winchesters through and through. I'm guessing they were seven and eleven, or something close to that. The only line that jarred was Sammy saying "He was sufferin" after he shot the dog. Yes, it ties back to the John Wayne movie, but "He was gonna bite Dean" is the real reason Sammy shot the dog. Ending this with the appearance of Rumsfeld and the boys giving the pup to Bobby was a nice touch. I also love that this memory of his boys was strong enough to propel Bobby back to his boys in the real world.

Hi Sue - Happy New Year

Yes there could have been a different line at the point you mentioned, didn't occur to me at the time, I guess a Beta-reader would have spotted that (not Beta'ed as not so lucky to have someone to do that for me at the moment).

Glad you enjoyed it and many, many thanks for leaving a review.
