Very nice one-shot! I love those little glimpses of their life before Sam left... before destiny called! I like that Dean is already in protector-mode... already assumed his mantle of responsibility and guilt over all things Sam... and I like how he's trying to cope with the fact that the biggest problem right now isnt really the scar but the fact that his brother wont give up the bed closest to the door. That underlying nuance is so telling and you wrote this so perfectly that the reader is almost misdirected by the book, the schoolwork, the notebook and Dean's worry over the Sam's old injury from the previous hunt.

Author's Response: Thanks very much! This is my first Supernatural fic and I really enjoyed writing Dean. He's got such a strong voice anyway. I guess I'll have to try something from Sam's point of view next and see how that goes!
