I realize I'm late reviewing on your story, but I just wanted to say thanks for sharing it with us. I'll admit I do have trouble sometimes reading about Sam leaving for college, but I like how you wrote Dean as he discussed it with his little brother and offering to help. You have filled your story with some wonderful tense moments. I felt sorry for Dean as Sam will be leaving in the spring and in his concussed state he thinks his little brother has already left. You did a great job of describing Dean's injuries. Plus if Dean didn't hate rats before, he should now as they tried to eat him after falling through the floor. I'm glad that Sam found a way to get to Dean, but curious how Sam will get his brother out of the hole. I'm looking forward to reading the next chapter and some other stories on this site. I'm sorry it has been awhile since I visited. Until next time, take care.

I really love pre-series time frame- and delving into Dean's POV when Sam left is one of my favorite. The injuries plus Dean's concussed brain mixing up reality from delusion when it comes to his brother leaving - was a scenario just too good to pass up. As for the rats- well, I'm just sick that way! Oh no, you are sure putting both boys, but especially Dean through the wringer in this story, aren't you? It always makes me feel like a bad girl that I enjoy reading stories in which it gets from bad to worse and then some more for the boys. Great job, look forward to chapter 6!

I didn't realized you had posted the next chapter of this. Just had time to pop over yesterday and check out the challenge when you mentioned it. Didn't even look at what had been posted. Decided to give it a quick look today and now here I am, sneaking and reading when I should be working. LOL Sam and Dean's self loathing and guilt kill me! That is one of the reasons for so many misunderstandings between them. They assume because of the way they feel, it's the way the other one feels, when it couldn't be farther from the truth. Sam doesn't hate Dean and Dean doesn't want to just ditch Sam but because of their own personal issues they make themselves believe that. Sammy needs to hurry up and get Dean out of there! And don't rats carry rabies? Not good! Okay, where's the next chapter? LOL
Author's Response: I just sneak up on you that way!!! LOL... I promise I wont tell your boss that you're reading SN fic on the side... after all- it shouldnt be against the rules- but a work requirement to get through a day! As for the self-loathing and misunderstanding... well- I have to assume it didnt start after Stanford- but found it roots much earlier on - at least for Dean. And I'm sorta sure that Sam too- with his relationship with John (alluded to) spent a fair amount of time dealing with self-doubt and wondering what his family thought about him. I'm sure they carried that for years on... As for rabies? Hmm- actually hadn't thought about that.... but they definately have myriads of disease... nasty critters! Next chapter? Is it Sunday yet? LOL Thanks as always hun! I totally appreciate the support! Would LOVE to return the same- HINT... HINT!

It was very interesting reading Dean and Sam's thoughts while they're apart . Poor Dean, he's in pretty bad shape hope Sam'll find him sooner than later. Can't wait to read more.

These rats are creepy. I hate those little rodents. Poor Dean. What a mess he is in. Can't wait for the next chapter, and I hope Sam is there for the rescue. Good story, and I'm enjoying it.
