Great imagery, five minutes well spent I'd say. I agree that the relationship between Sam and his Dad was bitter enough to have allowed this type of reaction, it's a little AU to cannon - as Sam seemed to be almost desparate in his attempts to make things up to his dead father, but I enjoyed the powerful emotions in your version also. It is a bit AU and I can understand why the canon took the issue in that direction eh but in my head this version prevails. :D
