I like your portrayal of John as a concerned and loving parent. Too many writers have him as an uncaring monster, I think your description is much more realistic. Nicely done.

It has been a long day, and I'm so tired that I'm about to fall asleep, but this story was so good that it kept my attention.  It is a really good story.   Thanks so much for posting it so that I could enjoy it.
