I'm totally with you on the thought that Sam deserves heaven after all he's been through (and so does Dean for that matter) and that Zachariah messed with their heaven and what we saw is not what it would really be.

Great job, Muffy!

This is a fun surprise, having all of these tags to Unforgiven!  I love it!

Totally heartbreaking, but real.  And also expected and not, which is really good.

He is still there, still in Hell, at least in his head. It's not where his soul really is, his soul is here, safe with me.

This line stood out for me, most especially the part about his soul being safe with Dean.  It is so true and why Dean never would have left Sam's soul in Hell. He saved him, even if the wall cracks and Sam cracks.

I've often thought about One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in relation to the boys and what they would do for each other.  As tragic and sad as it would be, I know that Dean would save Sam from a living death or eternal torment locked in his head.

To think Dean would follow him is disturbing but again real.  They are that intertwined and the love is that great. Yeah, this story gets you thinking about all kinds of scenarios for our boys and so many of them are not good.  The good part is they are there for each other, through it all.

Great story.  You really took it it a fresh direction. - B.J.

Dean's POV..knowing he would kill Sam and kill himself if it came to it. Touching..and sad. I believe it to be true too, because now that he has Sam back he wouldn't want to live without him..especially knowing his death was by his hand.

Great story. I love all these different scenarios from each of you. All different, but at the heart all the same. Each brother can't..or won't..live without the other and their love will be what keeps Sam from crumbling under the weight of what is behind that wall. On to the next story.

Take care,
Jane

This is beyond beautiful and a wonderful addition to the episode. Loved Dean's POV and also loved his vow of love for his brother - "Yeah, I plan on following him this time. Heaven or Hell, The Winchesters are sticking together this time. I wasn't fast enough to follow him into Hell, but this time I'll be right behind him, hanging on to his hand like I did on his first day of school." It's perfect! (Never told you this, but I do have a list with some very special lines and these ones are certainly on it now) Thank you so much!

Ooooooo....the thought of Sam running blindly to escape something only in his mind is a little terrifying.  Poor guy...and Dean having to knock him out and patch him up after his self-inflicted freedom flight is a bit heartbreaking.

Wonderful piece Muffy!

Author's Response: Oh thank you so much hon! Writing this one almost killed me.

Awesome job Muffy, you knocked this out of the ball park, and so effective from Dean's POV.

Loved the analogy of The Three Little Pigs and the wall Death put up - awesome.  And so fitting that Sam would run away from his memories as soon as he came round but Dean just knew how his little brother ticked.

Heartbreaking that Dean knew if he had to he would kill Sam this time so he could have his heaven, but totally believable too that Dean would follow him - hanging on to his hand like I did on his first day of school - so emotional.

Great stuff, SH have rocked Just Added!

Author's Response: Thank you so much! Once Dean started talking this just came out of me, I can't describe it. He was hurting so much! And he was quite sure on the point of having Sam's back--for always.

Have to admit, this had me in tears. Not often a fic does that. Denise has done it to me with her Struggling Just To Breathe, and now you with this.

Really loved this being told from Dean's perspective while he waits in quiet desperation for Sam to wake up. And dreads the outcome.

Sam taking off, mindlessly running from his memories was frightening, especially when he bounced off the walls, the car, the tree. I'm not surprised Dean had to knock him out. But at least it gave Sam some small measure of respite, even though Hell invaded his dreams.

But Dean thinking about his decision to bring Sam back, and his realisation that even if it was only for a short time, it was worth it to bring his Sam to his proper reward - that got me. For Dean to be so matter-of-fact, making up his mind to kill Sam to save him, like he promised, and being certain that Sam would never return to hell - that showed the depth of his love for his brother in a way that a huge flowery speech could never even hope to portray. Dean's quiet conviction that Sam would go to his version of heaven and live out eternity in peaceful existence - that had the tears flowing.

Oh, those boys, they just rip our hearts out.

Awesome job, hun.

Jules

Author's Response: *hugs you* I think that's something that was a little left behind. I mean the idea that Sam was trapped in hell. Did anyone really thing Dean would leave Sam there? It wasn't to stop robo-Sam, it was to save Sam. And I do believe that they both will get their reward in the end.

It don't get much better than this.  I love, love, loved this story.  Thanks Muffy for writing it.  Hugs, Denise

And so I cry over the beauty of this story. Fragile - what an appropriate title. It expresses so perfectly what you are saying in this story. Yet you are saying so much more. Dean, the incredibly loving big brother, who is ready to do anything, including nothing but waiting, to help his little brother. Loved his POV, his thoughts and memories, his tenderness, but also his incredible strength. What you express here is beautiful. It's fragile, but it's also an incredible strength that comes from the brotherly love they have for one another. Absolutely beautiful. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response: Oh thank you so much! This new POV coming from them, particularly Dean is so different, but he wants to talk that way, so in the moment. And he keeps talking to me that way. I guess I have always seen him this way, and these small moments... I am not even sure how to say what I want. *huge hug*
