Fabulous!  I wans't expecting children to be in the car.  Poor boys.  The endangered boys relating to their Winchester counter parts was a nice touch.

This really takes me back to season three.  You perfectly captured the denial, pathos and desperate hope that embodied that season.

Thanks

I didn't realise how much I liked S3 until I sat down and re watched it. Glad you think I captured the tone of that year.

That was a great read. A hunt, hurt!Dean, Sam concerned and taking care of his brother, terrific combo for a story. I loved the last shot of them asleep together in the same bed, so cute. Nicely done Mary.

Author's Response:

Hey Oceane

Thank you. The last part was the part I wrote first and the rest somehow came from there! Glad you liked it, Mary xx

So - you maybe have seen by now- that you've won the challenge- but if not- CONGRATS!

I adored this story- really loved the angsty torment of Dean seeing the blackdog/hellhounds nipping at his heels- the tie in of the brothers huddled together awaiting rescue... and even the Sam's steadfast determination to save Dean - it brought back such bittersweet memories of S3!!!

And that last line- WOW- just really encompassed everything about that shortened season...

Well done! and lots of emo/physical WHUMP too!

Congrats again hun! And thanks for smacking that muse around enough to give us this! I'll wait patiently on Wall now! :)

lovely to see you back, and what a way to come back. The black dog dragging Dean to the hell hounds was terrifying. great job.

Author's Response:

Hey Amethyst

Nice to be back, seems so long since I've written anything and this kinda flowed which is always nice.

Glad you liked, thank you for the review. :) Mary x

Very gripping one shot! It made perfect since for the black dog to try and drag Dean to his final destination since the black dogs are supernatural, too. I could feel Dean's panic and pain as the dog chomped and dragged him towards the woods. How terribly sad that the young group of boys lost their elder brother (and to a dog no less, a parallel of sorts with Dean and his younger brother). Bobby drinking here is so telling how he loves the boys (especially Dean). I've always thought he really looked at Dean as a son he never had (Sam, too but more so Dean). You nailed how each brother is facing Dean's soon to come deal. Dean has excepted nothing can be done (Bobby, too) and Sam the optimist feels that he will find a way (even deep down he knows it is no use). Thanks for the great one shot!!!

Author's Response:

Hi there!

Thank you. I liked the idea of mixing the black dog and the hell hounds together, like you say, the supernatural working together against Dean. (as usual!)

Glad you liked this, Mary xx
