Great story, like it a lot. Sam had it almost as bad as Dean in terms of emotional pain. Winchesters don't do "alone"!

Author's Response: Thank you very much!  Yes, I agree, it was equally bad for both of them, just in different ways.  Too bad season three got cut short and we didn't get to see more of how it affected each of them.  Thanks again!

I loved this story hun! Course- nothing gets me better than some good ol' Dean Whumpage anyway... but honestly... what really did it for me was the heart to heart there at the end. It reminded me somewhat of the openess of Dean comin' back from Hell and even though we only had some brief glimpses of it from him in S3- I just loved how you captured it with

"I'm sorry I put this on you, Sammy. I really am, but you are the reason I did this and knowing you're safe.….it's the only way I can face it. I can't stare down an eternity in Hell without knowing you're okay." Dean wiped his hand across his face. "So, are you okay, Sammy?"

It was such a culmination of AVSC and yet Dean assuring him a moment before that the discussions of Croatoan were nothing but a distant memory...

Well done!!! and while we couldnt pick dual winners- please know that I was (SOOOOO CLOSE)  wanting to declare a tie!

Author's Response: Thanks Tree.  I really appreciate all your words of encouragement because I seriously had my doubts about this one.  I tried really hard to capture the boy's relationship in season three.  I rewatched the season (such a hardship) to get the feel for everything and I made sure all my details fit (because I'm a detail freak).  I took notes on all the conversations they had before and after Fresh Blood because the conversation they were going to have in my story had to fit....it couldn't be too much, if you know what I mean.  It took me way longer to do research than it did to write it. :)  Thanks again and thanks for the challenge!

Great story. I liked how you had this whole Season 3 thing woven throughout the story. Loved the monster you chose and it was fun to see the hunt develop. Sam moody and silent, Dean worried and full of doubt, it was awesome. I especially loved that the moment Sam started to say that he had evil inside him, Dean's doubts were gone and he knew that Sam couldn't never be evil. He truly came through in all his brotherly awesomeness. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response: Thanks Vonnie.  I'm glad you liked it.  I had some serious doubts about this one since it was my first ever real hunt fic.  I rewatched season three to get the feel for everything and I made sure all my details fit because I am such a detail freak. :) Thanks for the review and the stars!
