We never did find out what Bobby wanted Ellen for.... And the boys hit the road again, with everything smoothed over at last. I had wondered whether there had been some settling between Sam and Jo, considering how easily they worked together during episode 5.10. But I had wondered about Ellen, especially since she didn't seem all that happy to see Sam in 5.02, and actually glared at him after hugging Dean - well, and after clocking Dean for not letting her know he was back from the dead.... Typical Dean to check the doctor's work - lol. Poor Doc. Thank you for supplying my lunchtime reading, hun. Jules

I know Ellen glared at Sam, but I felt that had more to do with what happened in Season 4, the demon blood thing and all that. As for Jo, I think they could have written an episode, where they worked together and smoothed things out, but as they never did, it's up to us writers, right? And Bobby, I just used him as an excuse to keep Jo from going downstairs to soon. Otherwise Dean would have never gotten up and fallen and Sam would have never..., well you know. All just little side notes to keep my readers guessing. I love that you caught on to all those and actually put some thought in. Makes me appreciate you even more. Thanks again. Hugs, Vonnie

Awwww - loved how Sam settled immediately once he felt his brother's touch and heard his voice. But he's so sick - I think Ellen's right, it's going to be a very long night. For a moment, I thought Jo had come into the room when the hand settled on Ellen's shoulder during Sam's delirium. Hadn't expected Dean, although I should have, huh? Those boys.... Jules

Huh. For some strange reason, I thought they were in different rooms. Duh.... Few bad moments for Jo there, but thankfully she rallied in the end and was able to help Sam instead of being frozen to the spot and allowing him to suffocate because she couldn't get past the fear and mistrust. But not good that his condition is worsening. Can understand Dean's not wanting them to go to hospital, especially with their records. Hopefully the doc's solution will do the trick. Time will tell.... And should I be worried about the strangers in the bar like Ellen is? Jules

Thank heavens Ellen remembered the boys normally travel together, otherwise Sam would have been a complete mess if he'd had to spend the night outside. Don't think Doc White would have been able to do much except call the ambulance by that stage. Geez, you've hammered both boys, and right off the bat, too. Can understand Jo being freaked at seeing Sam so soon after her encounter with the demon-possessed Winchester. And thank heavens for Ellen taking control and getting the boys the help they need. Very nice story hun... you totally captured the essence of the prompt- not to mention all the 'BONUS' points! For me- I just loved the dynamic between Jo and Ellen to be honest- it did more for me than what was going on with the boys. (Odd I know- lol) It was something I think we never really got in the show... it was just this huge gap between what sorta happened in S2- then BUABS then kinda AHBL and ooops- we all of a sudden had Ellen and Jo showing back up to help the boys out in Abandon All Hope.. Anyway - I ramble.... LOL. I just think you wonderfully captured what might have happened behind the scenes that helped rectify all the inevitable emotions that both of them might have/likely had... Well done- I totally enjoyed it! Tree

Awesome start hun! I love HurtDean (of course! - happy new year to me! Lol) and Hurt Sam is alright too! Frankly- I always thought Ellen woulda been very motherly to the boys given half a chance... I dont think she ever blamed them for anything and I can't wait to see where this story goes... (does excited happy dance!) Glad to see you with some nice New Years fare for us!!! Tree

YAY!! happy to find another installment today! A long night ahead. But Dean was feeling a bit stronger. So glad he can be there for Sam. Even so sick he can't let go of the memory and the worry for Dean.

Ohhh..so sad to see Sammy so sick. I guess Jo was still upset about Sam being Meg/Sam. Glad she's over it! Stubborn Dean! Glad he's listened to Reason! I hope Bobby was looking for the boys!
