Nice litte one-shot. I like that you did your research on Route 66. I'd like to travel that road myself one of these days. Congrats on third place in the contest!

A lot of research went into this - more than I like to admit. Especially since ol' Route 66 crawls through my town. One day I'll make a point to travel it. :)

Thanks for your one shot on Sam's running off to Flagstaff. I always imagined him about 16 when he did that. Poor boys, each thought the other was dead. I wonder how John treated Dean though when he got home. It could not have been good. Anyhow...thanks for posting your story here. It was great.

Yeah, I realized after it was written that I had cut out the John/Dean fight and it made me sad - but I'd waited too long to start my story and ended up finishing it the day of the deadline. Heh. So no time.
