Lucky You! I would say his eyes are Hazel. They change color alot! Depends on the visible light and the colors he wears!

Author's Response: Yes, I would agree with you that technically they would be called hazel and they do change depending on what you said. And yes, I did think I was pretty lucky staring right into those eyes. :)

And those eyes are gorgeous enough to get lost in them, aren't they? Anyway, I loved this story, I think it reflects very well what canon Dean felt in Season 5. The difference is, he didn't look into Sam's eyes and talk to him, it would have saved both of them a lot of heartbreak. I do think that Sam would have tried to end his life, if it wouldn't have been for Lucifer telling him that he couldn't die, so this is also not that much AU. Loved the ending, it was right up my alley. Hugs, Vonnie

Oh yeah, it was just a little hard to lean in and look at those eyes and not just stay right up in his face and take in every little detail. :)
I do think Sam would have tried to end his life too if he thought he could have. And yes, if Dean and Sam had talked they could have saved themselves a lot of heartache. They're such stubborn men sometimes!

What a wonderful story. I was really saddened with the way the TV show went, the two of them basically falling out, and they never seemed to get that closeness back again. so your story was great because Dean forgave Sam and everything was alright in the world again. Thanks... if I could award more than 10, I would.

He does have beautiful eyes, doesn't he? Mesmerising, actually. A friend in Russia, who is a die-hard Sammy girl, said she practically melted into a puddle when Jared looked at her (even though she's our age - LOL).
And they tend to pick up the colours he's wearing, too. But I agree, they're certainly not blue.
As for schmoopy - well, sometimes we need schmoopy to break the angst, especially this season. It's been a bit hard, hasn't it? And I have a feeling it's going to get rougher as the season goes into its second half. Clues abound, and they don't sound good.....
So it was nice to revisit an earlier time, with a Sammy full of emotion.
Loved the letter - it was so heartbreakingly Sam that I could hear his hitching voice. And of course, love the boys taking refuge at Bobby's.
And Dean's instincts were right - he does know his brother, and he picked the right trail to follow to get to Sam before he could do something stupid.

Thanks Jules. This is not what I consider one of my better fics, which is probably why it's taken me so long to post it here. It was really heavy on the schmoop. :)
I do love some emotional Sammy though and I'm just wondering what he's going to be like now that he has his soul back. I feel like there is still going to be some rough times ahead.
And yes, Jared's eyes are mesmerising but so are Jensen's. :)
