I really liked where you went with this. Seeing John's perspective on Sam's visions is always a selling point for me, and you got both almost perfectly here!

It is always nice to see John being written as a father who does love his sons.  

I like how John tried to comfort Sam and help him, yet did call Dean for advice.   I could just imagine how worried Dean would have been and how fast he will arrive back at the motel.

I think this scene would have fit in well with the "Salvation" episode.

I wasn't sure at first if I wanted John to phone Dean, you know? I'm not a fan of stories where John has no idea how to care for his sons since he is said to have been such a bad father. But still, with the visions, that would indeed have been something he wouldn't have any experience with so it was okay. And yeah, I think I would have loved to see that on screen too, JDM cradling JP to his chest.... :D

It was nice seeing Sam's "affliction" from John's POV. It was also interesting that John had to call Dean for advice!


Author's Response: John wasn't really thrilled he had to call Dean to help Sam, but I'm glad he did it for Sam's sake. ;) I was always wondering how John would react to the visions if he ever saw Sam have one, so that's where this came from. Thank you!
