It's taken me quite a long time to get to this review. I just couldn't put thoughts into words.

Don't get me wrong, it's not because it's badly written. Far from it, in fact. It's just...I feel so disillusioned at the moment by what is happening during Season 6, and my Pollyanna soul is breaking over the continued fracturing of the brothers' relationship. It was fixed for just a brief moment at the end of Season 5 before Sam went into the pit, but it really wasn't long enough.

And now we have this - only part of Sam brought back, and he and Dean at odds with each other once again, farther apart than they've ever been. I have to say, I hate what the writers have chosen to do to Sam, and I hate the division happening throughout the fandom because of it.

Sorry - didn't mean to turn this into a rant. I'm just so damned sad about it all, I'm tempted to just slip into lurkdom until the writers (hopefully) fix the boys and bring them back together.

I was quite shaken by the end scene of the episode, but Dean's internal realisations at the end of your tag gave me a bit of hope. And I did love the line at the very end. Let's hope that a new day does dawn for the brothers, and soon.

Just as an aside, it was really great to see you back on the boards again. Your talent has been missed around here.

I do believe you have done an excellent job at showing WHN. I could easily see this happening. Dean was extremely angry (beyond angry) and I've been wondering how much of this crap he could take from Sam without giving him a beat down. Now, he feels extremely guilty and Dean  being Dean, will find a way to fix Sammy. Thanks for the great one shot.

What a wonderful surprise.  Thanks for sharing your story with us.

I think you did a great job capturing the emotions and thoughts of Dean.   I love  both the brothers, that is why I watch the show, but when Dean started to hit Sam, I know I was angry at Sam for keeping another secret from Dean, so was glad that Dean hit him, though surprised how many times.

There were many great parts in your story, but this section was similar to some of my thoughts during that final scene.  'And yeah, I get it… he sacrificed himself to save the world, but fuck… I sold my friggin’ soul and got torn to goddamn ribbons by hellhounds to bring his ass back from the dead.   Don’t get me wrong, I’d do it all again… in a heartbeat. He’s my brother and I love him. But that’s what hurts the most. That’s the wound that just won’t seem to heal… the idea that maybe Sam… my Sammy… just wouldn’t do the same for me.'

It is hard to know what is going on in Sam's head at the moment, but I like how you reminded us of when Sam asked Dean to come with him in the first episode.

Gosh, what an amazing one-shot, really brilliant! If we could just get to see the brotherly bond again on the show, but I guess I just have to find my fill by reading great fics like this one. Thank you!
