Love the POV.  If only John could really SEE his boys.  See where the path he's leading them ends.  I especially like your images of Dean, growing up in such a touch life and the unspoken love that John has for him.  Nice job!

Author's Response: Thanks so much!  I just wish John had been able to express his feelings to his sons, or (as you said) see what he was doing to them.  I'm so glad you enjoyed this!

I loved John's POV here. It was very sad and poignant. John did his best even when he knew he was wrong but was trapped into this life style. Thanks for the great one shot!

Author's Response:

So glad you liked it...and thanks for letting me know!

This was so bittersweet!  I especially loved the image of Dean's heart-shaped face, haloed by that silky blonde hair, peering up at John.  Right up until the very end, Dean has such faith in John. ("Don't you let it kill me!")  That kind of trust had to be staggering.

And even though he didn't feature much, Sam was such a presence in this.

Really, really great job.  Thanks for sharing it with us.

Author's Response:

Thank you so much!  I think most kids start out with absolute trust in their parents (which must be staggering, and terrifying!) but lose it when they realize their parents are human.  It just took Dean a little longer than others.

I think John loved both his sons fiercely, but couldn't express it, and I wanted to show the feelings behind his actions.  I'm so glad you enjoyed this!

This is lovely - an understated and quietly angsty insight into John's life with his kids.  I think the love you have for the characters comes though as much as the love John has for his boys, especially for Dean.

Author's Response: Thanks so much, Amber.  I do love those characters, and I never doubted that John loved his boys, just never thought he knew how to express it.
