Hey adder---

I love me a nice Dean whumpage and wow... did I like this. The tension thorax and the surgery ... nice..

I liked the bit of weirdness that holds this story together. The names of Dean's friends and then how fate or destiny lead to Dean and Sam reconnecting if for a short time only...

Aw... Good job! RC

I loved your story! I'm glad you went sorta AU and had Dean meet Jessica earlier. I thought perhaps he'd never make the connection or Jessica for that matter. I do believe angels were watching Dean, with all his family and friends (and not so friendlies) names popping up all over the place, even names he didn't know yet. I'm glad that these strangers were there to help Dean in his time of need. His health deteriorated so quickly, it took me by surprise! Loved that both John and Sam were there for Dean when he had the surgery. Thanks for the great story!

Well Judy.... you don't have to worry about not getting a review... LOL! First- I would have loved this story simply because its pre-series and somehow I just have this thing about Dean hunting alone while Sam's at Stanford.

And Second- you whump'd him... so I was pretty much hook'd by the time you had him crack a rib... much less read the word pneumothorax (awww the medic in me was in 7th heaven)...

But then.. the artful way you worked in all the characters... ala Wizard of Oz-ish style... but yet- it wasnt cornish....

I kinda kept waiting for Dean to wake up on the side of the lake- realize it was a dream or maybe he'd drank too much or had some bloody gash to the head... but I gotta say I was still happily pleased and surprised that you worked it out the way you did...

I thoroughly enjoyed this- hope everyone else will too- nicely creative and a cool change of pace!
