Hey Natty.

What a nice study in human nature. I worked a long time with dementia patients and that repetitive long-term memory syndrome is so typical of them. I think your Dean handled it well and it was sweetly observed. The ending was poignant and realistic. A lovely one shot.

Awww....it ended up being sad...but with a little quirk right at the last line.

This line made me laugh out loud - lucky I'm on my own in the office today: The nurses had eventually taken the morphine button away from Dean. For some reason, they had gotten the idea that Dean was abusing the stuff.

Could just see Dean getting desperate to escape the constant babble, fussing and Basil stories by hitting himself up with the good stuff - lol.

Quick, but funny. And that awwww moment when Frank died. But I love the fact that Dean felt driven to correct the two old dears about the mare - LOL.

Thanks so much for sharing.

Jules
