Yowza!

Sam better not light a match. LOL.

Too funny.

You have me scratching my head.

I dare not even guess what will happen next, but I sure can't wait.

Thanks, friend, I love your evil side!

Karen

Author's Response:

LOL - no, he'd better not - it would blow the motel sky-high!

So I've got you puzzled, eh? Well, there might be a clue in the first chapter, and actually another reviewer hit on it but I'm not sure she realised. I have a tendency to throw red herrings around like confetti at a wedding - lol. But this particular red herring....wasn't....*winks*....

As for day three - well, not long to wait now. It's Friday afternoon, and after the crazy day I've had, knock-off time can't come soon enough. Is it a full moon or something, because the loonies have sure been coming out of the woodwork today....*sigh*...

Holy wrinkled thumb, batman.

I can't imagine what the heck is going on with Dean, but this sure is fun! You are a riot!

I wonder if Sam will start acting weird next?

Off to the next chapter,

Karen

Author's Response:

LOL!

Hi, Karen,

It was such fun writing those scenes, especially the one in the car when the boys are wrestling for control of Dean's thumb. I've been working on this one for a long time - actually came across the original email I sent to Tree asking for help, and it was dated September 2009! So it's been a year in planning.

Ah, will whatever-it-is start affecting Sam? Well, we all know that everything supernatural is drawn to that doe-eyed boy like moths to flame, so one never knows. What will they wake up to on Day Two?

As a very good friend of mine and fellow author would say...Dun-dun-dunnnnnnn......lol

Jules,

I'm loving what you've posted so far and I can't help but giggle at Dean! It's brilliant and I have to say one of the first of its type that I'm reading!! Can't wait for more!

Pink

Author's Response:

Hi, Pink!

Aww, thank you, hun. I'm really thrilled I gave you a case of the giggles.

I tried to think up fun ways to make Dean's life a misery - lol. And of course, having uncontrollable wind and other embarrassing problems seemed ideal. So glad it's working out.

And it's going to get weirder as the week goes on. Poor Dean - poor Sam! And then there's the hunt as well - don't forget the creature.....or is it a creature....

I am SO EMBARRASSED for Dean!  LOL!  How fun!

Author's Response:

What is it about wind that gets people laughing? Wish I knew - lol. And yep, that's pretty embarrassing for our smooth-talking hunter. I have to confess, I got the giggles when I was writing that diner scene, and both Chris and Sarah burst out laughing when they read it. So I was quite proud of that.

Trouble is, I have to match that standard for the rest of the story...*chews nails*...

Hope you enjoy day three, hun.

LOL!  Oh the imagery.....

Author's Response:

Hey, Julie

Can't you just picture it? LOL. Poor Dean - we so love to torture them. I just thought I'd go as weird as possible with it at the same time.

Great to have you along for the ride, hun.

Jules

Farting all day long, how embarrassing for Dean and Sam as well but so funnay as hell for us, lol. What have you in store for Dean and Sam for day 3, can't wait to know.

Author's Response:

Hey, hun! Yes, I sat down when I first thought of this story and tried to come up with a short list of the most embarrassing things that I could have happen to Dean - funnily enough, I didn't think of loss of bladder control - couldn't torture him that much!

As for what is in store for him on day three - well, it's going to be weird. Sam will probably get eye-strain from constantly rolling them. And Dean will be embarrassed - if he even notices....

Not long now...

Oh man, I'm still gasping for air. I've been gagging and trying not to breath throughout the whole chapter. That and giggling in between. This was great. Poor Dean, what was sort of fun in the beginning, grossing his brother out, turned absolutely embarrassing for him. I blushed with him in the dinner. And poor Sam, first annoyed, then embarrassed and worried. I sure wonder what's going on. And what will day three bring? I don't know if I even want to find out? Still, I can't wait for more, as this is certainly getting better with each chapter and I wonder what monster is doing all this. The things happening to Dean sure sound a whole lot like a trickster, but I can't see the deaths being connected to one. Or is it a trickster that tries to have fun with the boys while they are hunting, maybe even just keeping the hikers hidden and setting the scenes up? I should quit guessing, because I'm sure I'm way off anyway. Great story though. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response:

Gasping for air, eh? You and Sam both...*chortle*...

Yes, that was pretty horrendous for Dean - especially if he had spotted that poor blonde girl in the diner and was intending to do a little hunting of a persona nature - don't think she'd like to spend time with a fart machine...LOL.

What will day three bring? Well, I could tell you.....but then I could wait a few hours and just post the chapter - lol.

But you have put forward some very good theories there. Trickster, eh? Hmm....well, that does sound plausible.

But it's not a trickster.....or I could be fibbing....but there is a little clue in the first chapter....or there might not be.....

Going now...

I have never laughed so hard..I had tears in my eyes. Poor Dean..no wait poor Sam. What will day 3 be like for them? I can't wait to find out. It will be hard to top this one..but with your evil mind I'm sure you'll have no problem..lol
Look forward to Friday. Talk to you soon.
Take care,
Jane

Author's Response:

Thank you, Jane, I'm so pleased that I made you laugh out loud.

Ah, yes, poor Winchesters - lol. And that's only day two....what will the rest of the week hold for our intrepid (and gassy) heroes?

I of course know, but I'm keeping that to myself - lol. Suffice to say that it's already been weird, and it's going to get weirder. Let's hope they find the connection before......*********.......

OMG! Inearly printed this chapter out for my husband to read. I'm saving every one of those expressions for him.Absolutely brilliant one of the funniest chapters I've ever read on ungen. Can't wait to see whats next and how it relates to the hunt. Thanks for writing.

Deb

Author's Response:

ROFL! Yeah, I've been getting some funny looks from a particular family member of mine, too, when that chapter was read! But I'm not saying anything...my lips are sealed.

Thanks so much for that - I'm such a happy veggie to see the reactions from this chapter. I think this was the most fun to write, actually. One of the others almost did my head in - lol.

As for how it relates to the hunt....well.....there's a bit of a clue in the first chapter....but then again, there might not be....

Thanks, Deb - hope you're having fun gearing up for summer.

Hey there, sorry for not reviewing earlier. We were away for a few days. I had the pleasure of reading both chapters in one piece -guess that- while on a train. Holy... lol!!! I was laughing so hard that other passengers looked at me funny and my little girl was totally amused. Jules, you ROCK!!! We love you!

So, what's next for our poor guy? Nose picking? Knowing you, it will be something 'evil' **grins wide**.

I can't wait to find out how Dean's "problems" are related to the hunt. Roll on next Friday! Hugs!

Author's Response:

Hey, Dagmar! Oh, gosh, you burst out laughing on the train?? How embarrassing....almost as embarrassing as Dean's little problems - lol.

Hope you had a good break - how did Sidney enjoy the holiday? I bet she's growing like a weed.

What's next....well....only a few hours to go before you find out. Rest assured, it's going to be fun...and embarrassing...I actually had fun trying to think up weird and wonderful ways that I could torture Dean - lol. I'm happy with the list I compiled - hope you will be too.

Great to hear from you, hun.

Bwhahahahahaha!  OMG, Jules, that is seriously hilarious!  I was trying to read this and eat lunch.  Really not a good combination since I kept laughing hysterically.  They may be sending out for the men in white coats even as I speak.

There are just too many good jokes and one-liners in there, I can't even begin to pick a fave but I did think it was funny Sam is having to put up with gassy Dean for a change and I loved the fact that the whole town was talking about Dean's gas instead of the deaths that are going on!

Can't wait to see what happens next.  This was just what I needed to perk my Friday afternoon right up!

Author's Response:

Hey, Sonya,

Yeah, um - don't eat while reading this either - lol. I did the don't drink warning - forgot about the eating.

So glad you loved all of this. I think it's the best chapter - there's just something about wind that's hilariously funny. Must be the sheer embarrassment that causes us to giggle uncontrollably. And yes, Dean's little explosions have the whole town talking - poor Dean! I'm torturing him unmercifully in this one! And I love it! LOL.

hugs

HAHAHAHAHHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

I am literally rolling in laughter!! Good thing my office door is closed and my iPod is playing a bit loud... cause I howled with laughter- especially by the time I got to the bits with 'Foghorn ass' and "butt-cheek trumpet solo'... I mean really... the banter and the insults are nearly gag-reel worthy and so spot on- I could actually see Sam/Dean - Jared/Jensen trading them in voice.

I am truly proud- not to mention- you did get all the OTC remedies in there and all the slang too...

Well done young Jedi! hahahahaa!!!

I'm just loving this- (although feeling just a little sorry for Dean too... minimally albeit!) but still laughing my ass off cause its almost poetic justice that Sam has to put up with the toxic revenge cloud...

Can't wait to see what's up- although my brain is formulating its suspicions...

Tree

Author's Response:

ROFL!

I had all our emails copied and pasted into a Word doc, which I had open as I wrote each chapter. That was my research notes - lol. I was quite proud of the fact that I managed to get them all in there. I'm glad you recognised a few "old-time" favourites.

Ah, so your mind is working overtime? And of course, you've got that weird list that I sent you, too, just to help you along. Or muddy things up a bit more - lol. And yeah, this time the peg needs to be on Sam's nose instead of Dean's. Whatever could be in store for our favourite hunters when they wake up in the morning?...*grins evilly*...

Hit me with your best guess! But I can't tell you if you're right, not until the end. I'm just mean that way - lol.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha....I almost lost my breath. Poor Dean!  Sam's reactions are so perfect too! "Fart machines shouldn't have pie" Hahahahaha....Great "supernatural" story too. Can hardly wait till next Friday.   Thanks so much for being you! Cheers and blessings,      Jo

Author's Response:

Hey, Jo!

LOL - there's just something wickedly funny about someone passing wind, isn't there? Of course, it doesn't help that it's somehow supernaturally ramped up to ridiculous levels!

It's going to be an interesting week - for Dean. Ahh, the things I'm going to put him through...*rubs hands together with glee*....

Thanks, hun!

Hugs and blessings,

Jules

Just loved that chapter Jules, so freaking funny!

Farting, so not funny for Dean or Sam, but it could have been worse, he could have had follow-through!  Not good though that his trumpet solo at the diner had the whole town talking, down to the local rookie cop - no chance of flying under the radar on this hunt!

Still can't see what connection there could be between hikers getting mauled to death and Dean's predicament but the supernatural can be a strange thing!  And how come only Dean is affected, not Sam and certainly not anyone else in the town?

Can't wait until next week's instalment to see what replaces Dean's farting, and something must as the title of this fic is 7 Days Of Hell and it's about to turn into day three!  Can it be any more embarrassing than the thumb-sucking and farting - knowing you, YES!

Sarah

Author's Response:

Hey, sis,

Well, I try - lol. I like a little humour; it lessens the tension a bit. Too much angst and darkness can be a bit damaging.

Yes, not so funny when it went on all day - especially for Dean who wasn't game to show his face outside the motel room any more - lol. And no, no chance at keeping a low profile - he blew that out of the water.....and there's a line there, but I'm not going to touch it!

As for what's the connection - well, it's simple. It's....**************************

Sorry it took me so long to get to this, Jules.  I was laughing all the way through it!  The image of Dean sucking his thumb is hilarious and if I may say so, quite sensuous the way you described it.  :)

Loved Dean's imitation of Bobby doing Charlie and I loved the boy's fight in the Impala.  I was just imagining someone walking by and giving them a look like WTH?

At least I won't have to wait long for the next chapter now! :)

Author's Response:

Ah! You're my lucky thirteenth - LOL.

Aww, thanks, Sonya - I'm really glad you got a good laugh out of this chapter. Sensuous, eh? And after my little crotch porn screencap this morning - lol.

I'm chuffed that the fight in the Impala came  out well - I could see it all in my head, but you know how it goes. Sometimes it loses something in the transition between brain and keyboard.

And no, you won't have to wait long at all. It's midday Friday down here, so I've only got four hours work to go then a couple of errands, and hopefully internet will be still working when I get home so I can post.

Next chapter will be even crazier. Just....you know...saying...*winks*...

Thumb sucking Dean..lol. What will you think of next? Look forward to finding out in the next chapter...and poor Sam, having to deal with a thumb sucking Dean. I am loving this.
Can't wait to find out how this hunt and Dean new friend(his thumb) are tied together. Friday can't come soon enough.
Take care,
Jane

Author's Response:

Hi, Jane,

Yep, Dean's got a new fetish, much to his - and Sam's - disgust. He might not be able to go back to the diner in a hurry - lol.

Just how is this tied to the hunt? Well, I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you...*sigh*...very messy. But there might be a clue in the second chapter.

But then again, there might not....*grins*...

Either way, things are going to get really weird before the end. Hope you enjoy the ride.

Awww...Dean sucking his thumb,  how cute. I'm wondering if there're a connection  between Dean new obssession ,the hiker disappearance and the eerie glow over Dean's toes. I laughed at Charlie's angels joke, hilarious. Poor Sam being hit by Dean so he can suck his thumb. What a fun and intriguing story, I can't wait for Friday for more.

Author's Response:

Hey, hun,

Ah, well, there is a connection to something....but I can't tell you what. Can't give my plot away too soon - lol.

So glad you loved the Charlie's Angels reference. And yes, poor Sam copped one for the team there - bet he wished he'd just let Dean suck that thumb and be done with it.

Things are going to get freaky - hang onto your hat.

Awe Jules...a thumb sucking Dean.  That is just too freaking cute!  I can just see it!  Love this...

Denise

Author's Response:

Hey, Denise! Ooh, yes, it's too adorable, isn't it? Can you just picture it? Should we get him a teddy bear? ROFL!

He might need something to cuddle by the time I'm finished with him...*grins evilly*...

So great to have you along for the ride, hun - hope you enjoy next week's chapter. Just a tip - don't have a drink while reading, okay? LOL

Ok ... first, um, I think my face is as red as the background of the UnGen screen. Well- that is assuming which background one chooses! LOL... Seriously Jules... you give me far too much credit.  I just love to plot and in most cases- I'm just better at it than writing. Thanks much for all your kind words - not really sure I deserve them... I always think I'm kinda being a slacker around here when it comes to doing things with the site ( and don't get me started about my writing!)

Anyway... I'm sure you know- you've had my head spinning about this story for some time now with all your questions and NOW - you give me thumb-sucking Dean. Of course- between my head had to fight down a couple of naughty thoughts first- hahahaa... but then- you wrote ( as your always do) just some of the most perfect spot-on, dialogue between the brothers and the tussle between them at the end played out like a scene from Tall Tales in my head.

The mystery is afoot!!! LOL

Oh- and one last- Bobby as Charlie.... I think I nearly pee'd myself when Dean did the whole Good-morning Idjits bit...

Friday huh? Its like waiting for the next eppy! lol.

Author's Response:

I've got the red background, hun, but I really don't think you have anything to be embarrassed about. You do a great job.

And as for your writing....let's see now...*rummages through site*...

2009 UnGen awards - Best WIP: Worthy
Best Demon - Livin' On The Edge
2008 UnGen awards - Best VS eppy: All THe King's Men
Sensue awards - Round 6: Midnight of The Soul (Best Threat Ever & Hunt That Little Bitch Down)
Round 17 - Best Chick Flick moment: Livin' On The Edge
UnGen Featured Stories: Blood Sucking???; Twelve Bottles, Eight Bullets; Midnight Of The Soul.

Did I tell you my middle name's Sam? LOL. I researched my subject rather well, and your writing stands up there with the best of them.

Ooh, yes, I was hoping you'd remember all those crazy emails back and forth all those months ago. Yep, this is the result - and I have included that shopping list, among other things - lol. Naughty thoughts....thumbs....*shakes head*...not going there, nuh-uh. I'll be good.

Thank you, hun. I'm really thrilled you got such a laugh out of the first chapter. And if you almost peed over the Bobby's Hunters bit, wait till you get to.....chapter 2....*winks*....

Oh wow...what an original story idea!! I never ever read something like that before. Awwwweesome. Gonna be hell of an awesome story.

Dean's sucking his thumb! What a hilarious image!! Never thought I'd get to see something funny yet disgusting like that. Dean-the macho-takes-no-craps-type of hunter is sucking his thumb like a baby! And he groined Sam!! Oh crap...

Why Dean's acting that way? Has he been hexed or got cursed somehow? I really want to know. Now I can't wait til' next friday. Loving this hilarious chapter.

Ritu.

Author's Response:

Hey, hun!

Awww, thank you. I sort of thought it was about time I belted Dean up for a change. And yes, poor tough-as-nails hunter has suddenly developed a thumb fetish. And he nutted his brother to do it. LOL.

Why is he acting this way? Well, it could be...(censored)....or it might just be...(censored)...or it could even have been the ...(censored)...from the ...(censored)...

*grins evilly*.....

Now you didn't really think I'd tell you just yet, did you? Patience, young Padawan - all will be revealed in the next couple of chapters.

Maybe.....

Tease!  And a big thanks to Cookie6 for Sam's man-bits! <g>

 Kim

Author's Response:

Thanks, Kim.

Cookie's man-bits - we were working on the epilogue for Here At, and I did the bit where they swap drivers on the way out of Havre. We were beta-ing for each other, as Sarah was in the air flying down to Australia, and Petra wasn't quite getting the picture I was painting - I'd visualised Sam getting out of the car and walking around, but it didn't come across that way. Petra thought they'd climbed over each other to swap sides. And that was when shemade that wonderfully funny comment - "don't you think that's way too many man-bits in one small area?"

So I saved it for a rainy day, as I do. Was pretty chuffed to find somewhere I could use it, actually. Even though Sam copped a knee in the goolies for it - LOL.

Hope you enjoy next week's chapter - it's going to be even crazier.

I was out working all day yesterday. Today I am up early, ready to work again. But thought while I had my coffee I'd check for new stories. Still not expecting to see yours. And there you were!!! - like Christmas in August.   I love how I can hear Sam and Dean's voices so clearly in your writing. And the thumb-sucking - such a perfect way to begin a story of "turned upside-down" days. I laughed out-loud. Particularly having it be Dean who is afflicted. Even funnier. The humour in the story is balanced with the boy's relationship and the hunting story and I so appreciate that!   Already excited about next week's chapter.     Blessings always...                                   Jo

Author's Response:

Hullo, Jo!

Glad I could give you a little treat for all your hard work. *grins*... Even though it was a day later than planned - stupid internet signal towers....*mutter, grumble*.... The greater the technology, the easier it is for a spanner to be thrown into the works, I reckon.

Ah, if you're hearing the boys' voices, then I've done my job as a storyteller - that makes me a very happy veggie. And yes I sort of felt it was time I stopped beating up Sam and laid into Dean for a change - LOL.

Turned upside-down is a pretty good way to describe what I'm going to put him through, actually - I'm so evil. Hope you enjoy next week's chapter - it made my auntie have a serious case of the giggles, so I think I might be onto something there - lol.

Take care,

Jules

Awesome Jules. So much to love about this story already and it's only chapter 1. Dean's impression of Bobby in Charlies angels - hilarious, I could just picture it. Love that the towns called Casper and Dean sucking his thumb and willing to fight sam to do it, brilliant. Can't wait to see where this is going and really looking forward to my weekly fix from you.

Deb

Author's Response:

Hey, Deb! Stoked that you loved Bobby's Angels - LOL.

Casper was a stroke of luck, actually. I was Googling towns and trying to work out where the boys would be, and I glommed onto Shoshone with Casper just down the road, as it were. Casper was just too good an opportunity for fun to pass up.

And yep, Dean's desperate for that thumb - he'd even give up his beloved pie for it - lol. As for where the story's going....well, just look at the title....*winks*....things are gunna get freaky....

Thanks, mate,

Jules

Reviewer: vonnie836 (Signed) · Date: 21/08/10 12:39 PM · On: Day One - Comfort Food

Great new story. Already love it. So the boys go on a hunt that turns out to be already taken care of. I loved the Bobby's Hunters bit with Dean's imitation. I understand that neither of them would come out with this in front of Bobby.

I was wondering about that light and it obviously was Dean that it disappeared into. But the result was completely unexpected. Thumb sucking, what the...? Yet it couldn't be that easy and now it's not just an irresistable new urge for Dean, no, he is also ready to hurt and maybe even kill his brother over it? Now that is way weird. Wonder if Sam is right and the case of the missing hiker is connected to this or if this is just a coincidence. No matter what, I'm going to wait anxiously for the next chapter. This is set during a difficult time for both boys and especially Dean, just out of hell is probably vulnerable to a lot of things.

Hope your broadband access isn't going to give you any more trouble. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response:

Thanks, hun.

Oh, I'm really thrilled you loved the whole Bobby's Angels bit - lol. And yeah, they'd be too chicken to say it to Bobby - he'd slap them upside the head!

And you're right - it was Dean's foot that the light was hovering around. And he is ready and willing to defend his right to suck his thumb - ROFL!

As for it being tied in with the missing hiker....well, only time will tell...or perhaps not....you may figure it out in the next chapter....or it could just get way weirder....and I'm just going to grin and say nothing more!

Yikes - got full broadband back last night (Monday night). What a pain that was - it took me two and three-quarter hours to download 35 emails on the alternate GPRS broadband network. No way was I able to post at that speed. Thank heavens for Chris, and the fact that she only lives half an hour away.

hugs
