Great chapter! I like that the boys had to work together to get the troll, and to care for injuries.  They are meant to be a team!

Oh man, this was painfully awesome.

You've got Sam's season 4 hubris DOWN.  His heart's obviously in the right place, but his ego is staggering to behold.  That's the Sam who gets pissy with his brother and snaps, "Well get angry!" because Dean confesses he's tired.  That's the Sam who tells Ruby that his big brother isn't strong enough to get the job done.  (I mostly want to beat the snot out of that Sam!)

And Dean... God, Dean!  He just keeps trying, just keeps going, just keeps giving his best no matter how crappy things get.

I feel that this whole story could have happened in the series.  Their voices are perfect, their actions and interpretations of each other's actions are spot on.   This is such a great character study, particularly of Sam, during a time in the show when the boys were growing further and further apart.

Just... Bravo, girl!  Loved it.

 

PS -- YOU'RE GOING TO SEE ME IN VANCOUVER TOO!!!
