Sorry it took so long to comment. I love the core idea and I love the simply journey of the dialogue and the silences. Everything just fit, even the discomfiting realization at the end. Somewhere along the way we did stop thinking of them as people.

no need to apologize for how long it took to comment. I am happy to get belated ones becauseit means I am not the only one who searches through every story to find the right one...

now all i have to do is finish writing my burn notice supernatural cross over and people might read my work again :)

Yeah! I've had the same thoughts. I just figured it was their way to distance themselves from those possessed in case they died. A coping mechanism. I'm glad someone else has wondered about it, too.
This piece is very good! You can just feel Sam thinking.

It's an interesting thought, not a comfortable one and well explored in a very few words. I guess technically a drabble should be 100 words exactly. Well done.

aw thanx Bird, it's been awhile but you are right, it is a rather disturbing thought. the idea came awhile ago i'd just not had the chance to put it into words till now.
and i don't normally do drabbles. XD
