I love this story! Nothing like a hurt!Winchester to start the day. And as usual, you describe Sam's pain in techni-color, sensa-round so I feel like I'm there.
It's one of those soothing, gentle voices Dean doesn't use very often anymore. Not on Sam anyways. Not on anybody. Not anymore. Right from the beginning you set the tone by letting us know that the relationship between the brothers is strained.
...smells like life and death all at once. That's so descriptive and it also tells us how grave Sam's situation is.
Until everything just slips away from you through your blood. Until everything is just... gone.
There's urgency... there's fear... there's Sammy... in that voice. Ohhh, that says so much about the brotherly bond that's always between them even when they aren't getting along.
He sounds like a child, ready to burst into tears, but he doesn't care... I love it when pain reduces the men to boys again. It brings out my motherly side. and it also brings out the fierce protectiveness in the uninjured brother. Gotta love that!
Author's Response: HEY BABE!
*thinks about where to tackle this review* :)
*smishes you* i love it when people tell me what parts worked for them and what they found great, what sentences and things like that... SO THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME!!!
whee, man, I just needed to write a totally pointless and plotless hurtSam fic! I just HAD TO!
yeah... god... I mean... I noticed in S5 that Dean... he's not treating Sam as Sammy anymore... not like he did in S1, or S2... now he's treating him like the man Sam is.. and it's okay, but... sad! BUT at the same time (which is weird) THEY are still brothers and in some way Sam will be Sammy to Dean for ever! it's a really weird line the boys are walking on in S5! on one hand, Dean is treating sam as Sammy, but on the other hand, not so much!
yup.... seriously... when a man is in pain... I'm just waiting for him to call for his Mommy.... heh, just imagine men having babies... I think they would die! :) LOL
so yeah... pain reduces everyone into a child, but especially men! dunno why...:)
awww, yeah.. well you see... you are a mom so you know how it is... you just wanna protect your kid from everything and everyone... even Dean or Sam when they are hurt! :))
thank you for reading this, love!
*hugs*
