You really had me worried when Bobby passed out too, and then it got downright scary when Bobby told Dean that Sam had died.

Thank heavens for the mix-up. And it was good that the hospital compensated the hunters for the tragic mistake.

So John called for help. That was an unexpected turn of events. Sad for the boys that their father was so close but chose not to contact them because of the danger involved. Can understand Sam wanting to leave the hospital immediately to go find him.

Thanks for providing my lunchtime reading for today hun.

Hmm - just what did Sam tap into to stop the Rarog from killing his brother and surrogate father? Another of those 'psychic punch' reactions, perhaps?

And they're all down for the count - geez, you wiped out all three...!!! Nothing like a bit of wholesale carnage to make the lunchbreak reading interesting!

So the hawk is a manifestation of the Rarog - it flew into the trees and came back as a tornado. Loved the lore on it, too, by the way.

And poor Sam, being tricked into swigging on syrup instead of coffee! Eww, yak, indeed.

The opening sequence really sets the scene beautifully, taking us right into the picnic with the ill-fated family. And I just knew there was something about that hawk that had to be supernatural.

Wonder if it was a harbinger of the storm, or the bringer? And what is the connection between the victims?

You know how much I sympathise with you about Sugar, hun, and it was a lovely tribute to immortalise her in print.

Wonderful ending to this great story! LOVED the brothers reunion in hospital and this touching moment here said it all, "Dean felt the arms wrapped around him tighten just enough for him to feel it, yet not enough to hurt his arm. Leave it to his brother to think of his injury even at a moment like this", perfection! You gave me quite a scare when Bobby told Dean Sam was dead but then Dean was so confident his brother was alive cause he would have sensed if something had happened to Sam and I knew things would be all right; but it sure was a mistake that caused a lot of heartache. Liked John's role in this very much, bittersweet as he saved his boys but couldn't meet them, well it showed how much he cares and this means a lot to them I'm sure. Thanks for another favorite one!

Author's Response: Thank you again, I can't say it enough and it doesn't even come close to cutting it. You are such a great friend and reviewer. I'm glad you liked John's role. I wanted to give him a special place without actually showing up. Thanks for liking this one so much. I think it has a special place in my heart too. Hugs, Vonnie

This chapter sure had everything, great action, humour - did I enjoy Dean's little dwarf digression, priceless! - and an absolutely amazing Sam who despite his own serious injuries (the way his chest hurts, this can't be good and Dean and Bobby are way too hurt themselves to help him...quite desperate!) did everything to protect his brother and Bobby; what a great image when Sam stood there in the middle of this cloud and used his powers to save his family. But now things don't look good for the guys, just hope the Rarog won't be back while they all are totally unprotected and helpless. Really wow and thank you!

Author's Response: You're welcome and even more thanks to you. Their situation is serious and I hope the next chapter will keep you captivated. I promise there isn't just seriousness though. Hugs, Vonnie

Hey Vonnie,

I haven't posted a review in a long time but wanted to leave you a great review.

I am really enjoying this story and think that you have done an outstanding job.  Love seeing Sam and Dean being brothers again.

Also, I loved the seeing "Sammy" the puppy here too.  So sorry to here about your beloved "Sugar".  I have a dog myself.  Her name is Kia and she is a Keeshond.  She is 4 years old and has become just as spoiled as my girls.  I know just how our beloved pets can capture your heart.  We become so attached to them and when we lose them we become heart broken.  So my heart to you over Sugar.

God Bless!!!!!!

Hugs, Jane

How exciting, a new story and I already love it, it has a great mysterious background story but most of all you give us once more a wonderful description of the brothers (absolutely adored your lovely and very touching portrayal of Sam - "Dean, who was standing beside his brother, watched how the younger man's expression instantly changed into one of pained compassion. He'd seen it so many times in the past and yet it astounded him again and again, how Sam could emphasize with others and make an immediate connection." Very true and so very Sam!) and their connection. Aww and the dog scene, how cute was this - "I'm sorry mister, Sammy really is a good dog, but she is just a puppy and sometimes I just can't hold her back."/"I know, same thing happens with my Sammy!" and what a special tribute to your Sugar. Can't wait for more!

Author's Response: Thanks so much. I'm so glad you like this one. It's only three chapters and the next one will be up tonight. I really enjoyed writing this one and weaving in my fantasy facts into the actual lore, yes, the rarog is an actual lore figure, was fun. I had already started this, when Sugar died and so I changed the puppy from a boy lab mix to her. Hugs, Vonnie
