...huh. you know, i have to agree that that was weird, but it seemed to fit. i can totally see dean on that veritable edge of insanity sometimes, and that kind of secretive 'crazy' is totally something he would do. so good job.

Hi Gumnut *waves* I loved this. You gave a piece of quartz a personality, and it went right ahead and channelled Dean Winchester! LOL.

Of course, I get that it's really about the relationship between these incredible brothers, as shown so wonderfully here:

Sam didn't question him. He was far too worried about his state of health as Dean asked for a hand up. That was quickly followed by a reprimand for over-exerting himself. Dean told him where to get off.

In return, Sam chewed his ear off for an hour.

We need the weird. We need to turn our world on its ear once in awhile and change the view. We need to think about other facets of our boys' personalities, keep it fresh, keep it fascinating.

This was a wonderful kind of weird. Showing a bit of a different spin on Dean -- a character that appears so impenetrable from the outside when looked upon with unkowning eyes... and yet is rice-paper fragile and broken in so many ways when someone really sees inside of him.

You show that in this, slightly humorous, sentence:

"The great Dean Winchester, bane of the underworld, outlaw on a rampage and kickass gorgeous protector of the innocent…was talking to a rock."

Loved every minute of it, Nutty.

Wow - glad you did decide to write this one down - that was brilliant. I loved the thought of Dean arguing with the rock - and the end - that was so sad! Thanks for this wonderful little piece. ...Jules
