Excellent!  So clever and well thought out!  Faith is still one of my top ten favorite episodes - as is The Benders - hint, hint.......

Sweet!

I really enjoyed this, Sue. Loved the trip back down memory lane, and the wonderful filling in of the blanks that you did.

And yep, recognised the scene with Sam calling his dad and leaving that message, then Dean arriving at the motel room out of the blue. You tied that in so smoothly, it was beautiful.

Enjoyed Sam trying to apologise and make things right before it was too late, and Dean, sick as he was, doing everything he could to avoid the chick-flick moment and reassure his little brother that they were good.

And Sam's frustration, worry and exhaustion came through so clearly in his reaction to being shut down about Stanford, and storming off, then feeling guilty about it.

The icing on the cake was Becca's email, giving Sam even more hope that he wasn't going to lose his beloved big brother.

Thank you, Sue, for obeying your muse and giving us this gem. I loved every moment of the ride.

Sue

I enjoyed your story. Faith continues to be one of my favorite episodes. I think we all know, Sam could no more leave Dean, then Dean would have left Sam. The endless wait in hospitals try us at the best of times, the worst, well... They touched so many lives, it was nice to see someone giving back. Thanks for a nice trip down memory lane.

Loved Sam trying to say sorry and Dean not letting him. Funny how you can be worried sick about someone and they can still make you mad enough at them to have to walk away. Been there.

The argument makes sense for the reason that Sam was in the motel and Dean came to him, like it as the explaination behind that and how you wrote it. :)

Sam not researching Roy fully to me was the biggest tell in the whole episode that he was desperate. You touched on that nicely here. Sam must have known that something wasn't right with the healer but he only cared about Dean, he was his only concern.

Liked you having him reaching out to Becky as well and her response.

Love this episode and love you insight into it!

Thanks Mary xx

I love your M&M story, it was so sweet and love Dean not being able to wait patiently!

Poor Sam in the second part, so very desperate to save his brother and brave to call the contacts in John's journal not knowing what response he would get. (Cause John has such a nice personality sometimes!)

Nice start Sue and no, I couldn't see Sam leaving his brother alone for three days.

Well, I think you're doing a great job, Sue, in walking that line. And I have to say I adored that trip down memory lane with the M&M story. I could just imagine that tow-headed little tyke stuffing himself with the lollies to hurry up his baby brother's arrival - lol.

And hey....it worked!

Thanks for continuing with this one, Sue. I've read a few tags from that time that had Sam staying away the whole time, and I just couldn't reconcile it in my own head. I couldn't see Sam leaving Dean alone at the hospital for three solid days, no matter how desperately he was researching. Thank you for bringing that thought to life.

Looking forward to the next chapter. And oh, you're off the first page already!! Dang drabbles ... *scowls*.... they're like measles.

I LOVED the M&M story.  It makes perfect sense to me and was very sweet.

I thought I'd reviewed the first chapter but upon looking I see I didn't.  This story is wonderful.  Fills in the blanks quite nicely and is full of brotherly love and concern.  A win-win situation.

Author's Response:

Hi Ness,

Thanks so much for reviewing. Dean's peanut M&M eating habits just make me smile, and if there's a way to sneak an M&M reference into a story, I'll take it. I also love filling in the blanks in episodes, and these 3 days in Faith give us a lot of room to play with!

I loved the conversation in the hospital.  Very nice.  I'm so glad that Sam contacted Becky.  He would have tried everything, not just hunter stuff.  well done!

Author's Response:

Hi Primrose,

Sooo sorry I dropped the ball in my replies. A belated but sincere thank you for reviewing this chapter. Sam reaching out to Becky just made sense to me, because he would try everything, with Dean's life hanging in the balance.

I'm really enjoying your story. I too always wondered how Dean and Sam spent those three days while Dean was laid up in a hospital. I thought surely Sam didn't spend the entire time on the computer, he must have spent a good amount of the time with Dean. I'm really looking foward to the rest of your story.

Author's Response:

Hi,

Thanks for the review and the stars. Glad we're like-minded about Sam not leaving Dean alone in the hospital. This is an old story for me, I wrote it over a year ago, and it hung around as a plot bunny for ages before I even started to write it. I thought that surely someone else had already done a fill in story for these days, but I couldn't find anything, so I finally started writing it in earnest. So glad you're liking the result.

Hi, Sue,

I agree - I can't see Sam staying away from his brother for three whole days either. Especially not when the clock was ticking so ominously - he'd have wanted to spend every waking minute and then some at Dean's side. So Dean kicking him out of the room makes perfect sense to me.

You captured that sense of lonely bedside vigil - both at the hospital and back at the motel - very well. And my heart ached for both boys when Dean couldn't even garner the strength to throw the pillow at his little brother.

Three dark days, indeed. Looking forward to seeing where you're going with this.

Jules

Author's Response:

Hi Jules,

Thanks for the detailed review, trying to keep the boys in character is one of the goals of my fanfic;-)

When I visualized Dean's failed attempt to throw the pillow, I thought, oohhh, I've gotta write that, so its one of the scenes that kickstarted this whole story effort, glad you commented on it.

Great start.  I agree that Sam surely visited his brother during that time, but then you never know with those Winchesters.

Author's Response:

Hi,

Thanks so much for reading and reviewing 3 Dark Days, and thanks for the stars! Hope you continue to enjoy these missing scenes from Faith.
