Author's Response:

Well, I guess we have till September...but I hope the writers can compress the time for Dean.  I really, really hate Sam leaving him dangling like that...

So many tags to this ending are being written and I can see why. I like the parallel timings giving Dean the same 4 months Sam had to endure when Dean was in Hell - it has a nice ring of symetry to it.  I loved the way Dean coped with the incomprehensible moods of a 'real' life and real woman by retreating into the Impala.

And yes, I just can't see 'normal' working for him, however hard he might try.

Nice job... I feel the grieving may go on all summer for us as well as for Dean!

Author's Response:

I wish Dean could have a happy life, but I just can't see this being it.  I think we're all grieving with him and for him.  And yes, the four month timeframe just seemed appropriate...though I hope the writers won't really make poor Dean wait that long this time.

I agree....I have a hard tome seeing Dean just slip into normalcy.  Yeah.....he can put on a con, play the character....but it can only last so long.  I like your take on this tough time after Sam fell into hell.  Good job!

Author's Response:

Dean has no "normal" life skills for dealing with people day to day, and his vision of a normal home and family is based on fantasy.  I just hope the writers don't really make him wait four months before he gets back to his real home--Sam and the Impala.  Thanks for your thoughts and kind words!

This was really good! I thought that Dean's grief and frustration over a 'normal' life were very real and in-character, and especially how everything seemed to focus for Dean the moment he found out Sam was out of Hell. I enjoyed it a lot.

Author's Response: Thank you so much!  I think Dean's idea of "normal" is actually a fantasy, since he really has nothing to compare it to.  He needs his real life back.
