I didn't expect Dean to do a runner from the hospital car park and leave Sam standing there. And I had to chuckle at the mental picture of Sam's face as Dean floored it. But full marks to Sam for his quick thinking in anticipating where Dean would be and heading him off before he got to Bobby's. And the reunion, finally, brought tears to my eyes. Oh, and the throwing holy water in Sam's face - mirroring Bobby throwing holy water at Dean in Lazarus Rising - made me smile. Loved the last lines, by the way. So Dean. Author's Response: Hi Jules Yes, the throwing of holy water is a must. It's demonology 101. *nods* And besides, he needs to do it, paying what Bobby did to him forward to Sam. LOL I don't really want to do a scene of them confronting each other in the hospital, because it's just too crowded, and there's so man people to worry about. Whew - I'm relieved that it turned out to be Sam tailing Dean, and not a demon. And thank heavens for that - sounded like a harpy that he tangled with on that road. Things could have gotten very ugly indeed if Sam hadn't been so close. Could really feel for Sam wrestling with his fears - should he tell Dean he was back, or should he let Dean have a normal life? And what would Dean's reaction be? Hopefully all will go well, for both their sakes. And hopefully Dean's injuries aren't too debilitating. Looking forward to the next chapter. Jules
Author's Response: Heya again! Yes, i think that Sam would be thinking everything over like fifty times, unlike Dean, who just walked into Bobby's. LOL Do you think demons would be populating that much now that Lucifer's back in the cage? Much as i like the demon storyline, i really hope there aren't many demons left here on Earth. Lyn

Forgot to say in the last chapter, that I'm glad Sam has the amulet. A little sad that Dean left, but I think it was inevitable. Not that he didn't love Lisa, but his grief was just too great to allow him to settle down. It was good that he said a proper goodbye to Ben, though. And I'm with Ben - Dean would never have hit him, even if he had told him about seeing Sam. Wonder what Colin's angle was..... Jules

Hi, Lin, Oh, how heartwrenching. I'm really hoping that Sam does come to the door and knock when season 6 starts, even though I wouldn't be surprised if he walked away, thinking that he should leave Dean to have his normal life. Can understand Ben being reluctant to tell Dean about seeing Sam, especially given his mum's warning not to bother Dean. And I had tears in my eyes when I read that letter. Wonder how far Sam will get in his resolve not to contact his brother. And what Dean will do next, since his heart really doesn't seem to be in this new life of his. Jules

I love how Dean put Sam through all the checks just like Dean had to when he got out of hell. Of course he had to throw the water in Sam's face, after all, that is what happened to him! I'm glad that Dean came to the conclusion that Sam is Sam, and that they are back together again. Thanks for the great story!

Poor Dean! He's just one big trouble magnet, isn't he? Dean seemed a bit rusty there with that "thing". I was hoping that it was Sam trailing him. Luckily, he was there to save Dean. I'm really looking forward to Dean coming to at the hospital with his brother by his side. Wonder how he will take the reunion? Can't wait to find out!

I'm glad to see more of your story! I still found it very sad that Dean couldn't be happy and that Ben and Lisa are sad too (more sad for Dean than themselves). I'm wondering if this Collin is just a stupid kid or something more sinister. The big question is Sam still 100 percent Sam or something else a bit different. I hope he is just Sam. Looking forward to reading the reunion between brothers.

Oh! How terribly sad. I wished Ben had said something to Dean about whom he saw at the store. I wonder how long into season 6 before we get our boys back together again? I hope it is right away. Thanks for the great little one shot.
