I've felt that, too - that Sam has always been on the outside looking in. Even with Bobby, who seemed to have a much more comfortable and closer relationship with Dean than with Sam. Oh, if only this had happened instead of Sam keeping his distance - but then, Dean would have hit the road with him, falling into old habits that they realised last season weren't working any more. Oh, those boys.....will there ever be any peace for them? Loved Michael realising that Sam was deserving of a reward for his sacrifice, and that while tainted by demon blood, he was still a Winchester. Jules

Sniffle....if only this were so! I was so glad that Dean didn't say yes to Michael, that his endearing loyalty to his family would eventually give him what he truly wants. Thanks for the one shot, I loved it!
Author's Response: Yes, exactly! And I really don't think Dean got what he wanted at the end of Swan Song! I want him to get the girl, the kid AND Sammy, dammit! Thanks for the review, it means a lot!

Thanks for making Michael more human...during 'the song remains the same' we caught a glimpse of how complicated Michael could be, and this fic gives the full, accurate description. Michael has lost, just like Dean, but at least he can help Dean by saving Sam. Hopefully, this is how Season Six starts out!
Author's Response: I was a little bit disappointed how Michael was portrayed in the show, and while I enjoyed the majority of the finale, that last couple of minutes where it looks as if Sam's going to leave Dean thinking he's still in Hell because he thinks he's happier with Lisa? Yeah, so didn't like that! I'd love season 6 to start like this too, but somehow I doubt it. They like to torture the boys over summer too much! Thanks for leaving me a review!
