Great! I hope Kripke shares your yearning for a happy ending but I fear he's got a lot more pain in store for the boys.
Your description of Dean's anguish is so exquisite!

Oh, hun, if only.....but I have a feeling that Sam's going to walk away without knocking, or without Dean seeing him.
But - there is that big brother instinct and Dean's infallible Sammy-radar, so....this could happen. It could very well happen.
Could feel Dean's despair and his wish for death to take him as if I was right there in the room with him. And I cried with him when he broke down on Lisa's shoulder in the episode - oh, my gosh. It didn't even sound like Dean when he asked if it was too late for that beer.
Great to see the muse is still with you, hun. Hope you and yours are feeling better.

Muffy honey, nobody gets inside Dean's head the way you do. I can see this play out in my head as I read just like I can always picture Jensen's face, Dean reactions, when I'm reading one of your stories, they are a such a good combination. I sometimes think you get Dean more than the man that invented him does, that you can go deeper and see more of the man inside the mask.
Lost in the darkness, is right but like you I hope they are not long in finding the light of family again.

Oh thank you so much! Dean really spoke to me with this one. Dean was so very, very hard to deal with. I know he wanted to follow Sam and would do anything he could to get there. Even if he promised I don't know how long he would last.
