I'm really, really hoping that the boys will come back together in season 6. The finale just left me so heartbroken, even with the little bit of hope at the end when Sam appeared under the streetlamp.

Hoping that he doesn't come back as a disembodied spirit, but....*shrugs*....I just want Sammy back.

Having said that, I was really intrigued by your story, and love that Sam went to Missouri Mosely for help. His shock that she could actually see him was so well done, as was his despair that he couldn't help his brother. 

And oh, my Deany-babe - my heart just broke for him going through the motions because he'd promised Sam, but in the end not being able to continue any longer with the charade. One half of him is missing, and he knows it. 

So, given that you haven't revealed just what Sam is - roaming soul? - are you considering a follow-up to this story? Will we see the reunion, and find a way to get Sam's soul reunited with his body?

Not begging, just....you know...exercising my puppy dog eyes...

I really liked this.  You did such an excellent job capturing how Dean was probably felling after the events of the Swan Song.  This was very moving.
