Hullo, Supernatural Royal Highness,
I've finally gotten around to reading this - and you had me in tears! No wonder I held off...oh, wait...that's right - I was remaining spoiler free till the end of BoB....*smacks self upside the head*
Oh, Sammy - he just tore my heart out and stomped it into the ground, blaming himself for everything and feeling like Dean wouldn't be the way he was if he hadn't had a little brother who'd ruined everything.
His heartbreak just leaped off the page. Hopefully he can find Dean and actually tell him, because man, if anyone needs a heart-to-heart, it's those two.
Poor Sammy. He has continually ripped my heart out this season and honestly, after that finale, I'm not sure it will ever be the same.
Really glad you enjoyed the story. :)

Now I'm crying! Witch means hell of a good one Micaiah! Of course by now we all know what happened in the next episode don't we? ;)
I think I saw Dean's POV on this... better go check that one too. Are you gonna make me cry again????
(yes I'm still late on the reading, but I'm saving some of that for the h.... summer)
Author's Response: Hey Dany! Glad you enjoyed this one. I see you don't want to use that h word....I can't believe this season is almost over! *wails* I've got a story or two lurking in the back of my mind that I hope to write over the summer so hopefully I can not think about the long break! At least we're getting a season six!

Good job, Sonya. I think during their time in heaven Sam finally saw how "off" they have been, and that he in part is to blame for Dean's current hopelessness. Dean and Sam haven't been on the same page in awhile. It's too bad Sam realizes this when Dean's already lost faith in them as a team. Trust is hard to regain. Sometimes you can never get it back. But I agree that, for the boys, their brotherly love is as good a start as any!
Author's Response: Thanks Terri. I totally agree with everything you said. I think Sam finally realized a lot of things but I really believe he's going to save his brother. I don't think we're going to see an exact repeat of last year as Bobby mentioned in my story.

Poor Sam, the look on his face when Dean drove off was so heartbreaking. I liked that you had him call for help and the little talk between him and Cas was awesome. Yeah, there finally is hope. Great job. Hugs, Vonnie
I've always wanted more interaction between Sam and Cas and we're finally getting some of that this season. One of my favorite Cas moments is when he said "Sam Winchester is my friend."
Thanks for the review Vonnie!

You know, I think you hit it on the nail, spot on. Dean needs saving for a change instead of Dean saving everyone around him, and Sam is going to have to stand up and do it. Dean is in a really deep and dark place right now and he desparately needs Sammy to save him and make him see that the only way to stop this madness is the two of them together. Thanks for the great one shot.
Author's Response: Thank you so much! I really think this is going to be Sam's time to shine and be the brother that Dean needs him to be. I think Sam's view about a lot of things changed when they went to heaven and he finally realizes how much Dean has always sacrificed for everyone.

Sonya... if only the next eppy would run like this.... I'm doubting it will... but I'd love to see those last couple of lines play out like that...
I think Dean desperately needs to know his brother loves him... needs him... more now than he's ever needed before...
Hopefully- Sam didnt figure this out too late.
A wonderful tag to another Angst-filled episode ( oh and I just loved your Cas!)
Thanks so much Tree! I'd love to see Sam and Dean really have a heart to heart. I really do believe Dean needs to hear that Sam loves, not just that he needs him.
I think the time is coming when Sam is going to step up and finally be the one to save his brother instead of Dean saving him.

A really heartfelt piece of writing there Sonya, could so imagine Sam feeling that way when Dean drove off and left him behind. Loved his phone call to Bobby and his little chat with Castiel. I so hate Zachariah for manipulating their good memories and putting Dean much further down the path of despair and desolation.
Perfect ending, just loved it -
"That I love him." He swallowed hard against the lump in his throat. "I have to tell him I love him, Bobby."
"It's okay, son. That sounds like a good place to start."
A really great tag to an episode where I really didn't like the ending. Your words have made me feel a little better!
Author's Response: Aw, thanks Sarah! Glad it could make you feel better. That really was a heart wrenching episode and I'm afraid it's not going to get any better before the end of the season. Should give us plenty to talk about over the summer hiatus though. :)

But will it be enough? It's going to take a lot to get through Dean's depression...
Are you going to do Dean's POV to sit alongside this? It would be interesting as a complement/contrast.
Like Bobby said "It's a good place to start." I think Dean needs to hear that Sam loves him, not just that he needs him.
And yes, it took me a little longer to get out Dean's POV but I posted it this morning.

That was fantastic, but it feels like there should be more, a follow-up or a second chapter, about Dean's POV or what happens when Sam catches up with him, confronts Dean. Really enjoyed reading it, thanks...
Author's Response: Thanks for the review! I posted the companion piece today for Dean's POV.
