Phew, everyone is still alive. The boys back together and not damaged too much. But for a moment there I thought Sam had killed Gordon, but I should have known better. I loved this story and I am now sure that the worst bit was Sam tied up with barbed wire, and the best bit was, well its a tie between Dean beating Gordon in a knife fight and Sam shooting Gordon to save his brother. Well done Tree on a great story. You can certainly write.
Author's Response: Thanks sooo much Midge... I'm glad you enjoyed the story ( hope you found the one you were actually looking for - LOL). Glad the barbed wire was suitably nasty for you- that means I struck a chord... and likewise- happy that you also liked the fight between Gordon and Dean... ( somehow I always thought it was going to come down to that between them- even though it didnt quite in the show). Oddly enough, I never though Sam would kill him... but then- who'd have thought that Gordon would become a vamp? Ah well... I didnt have my crystal ball when writing this story. again- Thanks so much for your kind reviews and for taking the time to read one of my earliest stories. Tree

Enjoying all the fighting, angst and speed of the action. It may be one of your early posts Tree, but no grammar errors have dropped me out of the story, well done.

Even the threat of shattering glass falling on the boys doesn't feel half as horrific as the barbed wire and shotgun blast of the previous chapter. You're going to have to do better if you want another 'OMG' and stunned me.

OMG!!! What have you done?

I think I was wrong thinking this story was Dean 'whumpage' more like Sam 'whumpage' and Dean 'angst'. Great all the same. And I don't want to think of more to say, just want to go read more so I'll see you after chapter 3.
Author's Response: Give it time.... Plenty of Whumpage to go around... glad you found it and glad you like it... - but I'll apologize ahead of time.... this is one of the first stories I ever wrote in the fandom... it was never beta'd... so sorry for all the bad structure and grammar... hope you enjoy it nonetheless! Thanks Midge! Tree

Found this when looking for a story I read ages ago. This doesn't resemble to story I was hunting for at all, but boy am I glad I took a peek. Just love this opening chapter and I am so in the mood for some Dean 'whumping'. Gordon was such a great character than I can't wait to read more. Lucky me I just have to click next rather than wait for an update. Oh sometimes I just love old stories for just that reason.

Letting us into Gordon's head was chilling. I just assumed he killed his sister out of love for what she once was but your reasoning seems much more appropriate. I love the cold-hearted, calculating shrewdness with which you portray Gordon. You had me in awe.

Bloody? yahoo! Love me some hurt Winchesters. Once again Tree you've sucked me completely into your story.

Crap - I honestly thought that Sam had killed Gordon - and I wouldn't have blamed him either. After all, he and Dean had been tortured and put through sheer hell. And Gordon did have a knife at Dean's throat. Wow - what a ride. I can see how this won the award. It was edge-of-the-set intense, with Walker seeming to be one step ahead of Dean the whole time. But he did finally underestimate the Winchesters. Sort of glad Sam didn't kill him and have that on his conscience. But I completely believe that last line - he would kill for Dean - he would do anything for his brother. The same as Dean would do for him. Brilliant job, Tree - thank you for sharing this.....Jules

That was one hell of a fight. But I think that Gordon has underestimated the boys despite his gloating. They may be each other's weak spot, but they are also each other's greatest strength. I hope he gets his arse handed to him on a plate....Jules

I wondered whether Gordon had something like that in mnd when Sam first looked up at the panes of glass - it was typical of the psycho bas*ard. Not good - but then again, glass - weapons - both Winchesters together....I'm shaking my worry beads like crazy here, hoping for a good solution....Jules

Oh crap! Tell me that was rock salt..... That bastard Walker has got to die! Sam's right - he's off his rocker. A few kangaroos loose in his top paddock. The sod had Dean right where he wanted him - in a panic about his brother's mangled state. And Sam so weak and in so much pain that he couldn't yell a warning in time. Things are looking grim for our boys. But you don't do death fics, right? Right, Tree?......*chews worriedly on nails*...Jules

Nothing to beat yourself up for with this chapter, in my humble opinion. It was setting the scene and placing the pieces on the chess board. Sam's in deep crap. Walker won't be easily fooled - but the boys are always at their best when they're fighting for each other. I'm hoping that the deranged sod just doesn't realise what he's unleashed until it's too late. And I hope he has a very bloody end....Jules

Oh my gosh! I hate Gordon Walker with a passion. I think I cheered when Sam cut his head off in Season 3. And I'm glad that Sam was the one to do it, considering what the psycho bas*ard had in store for our favourite psychic. This is not going to be pretty. Walker has no mercy - no soul. Hope he didn't get to Sam first....Jules

Wow, so glad I finally finished this story! So mad it took me so long! The switching of roles; protector to protected, hunter to hunted, played out by a tiny cast of three (and poor old Vern. Bless 'im.) across half a continent; the cliffies you keep merrily tossing us over, only to land and find another one at the bottom - the whole thing comes together with that storming line, "I would kill for you" - giving up everything he is for his brother. And (since my head is even more twisted than yours) I had to wonder, what was he really going back to that warehouse to do? Sometimes, the best stories are the ones that leave the ending up to us...

First, I hate Sam and Dean torture, but it's so fascinating to read! (Does that say something about my moral character?). So, Gordo ended up in the hands of the cops in both tales, didn't he? Funny how like minds work alike (yours and Kripke's). Can't wait until the next riveting tale, I so enjoy your writing.

Just now, discovered you and your stories. Gotta say I actually liked this one almost better than the episode. This was great. And I'm happy that I'll have the opportunity to read more from you. Let the stories come!!

This was one of my favourite bits - the way you twinned Dean and Gordon, by reverting back to the first chapter. They're almost two halves of the same being, and without Sam, Dean would be Gordon. Incredible that this was only your second story!! I am extreemly impressed.
