Fabulous! I was amazed by the truth you revealed. Dean as the Fifth Horseman, identified by his ring. It was brilliant using his ring since it's so much a part of him, like the Impala or the amulet.
Dean's compassion for his brother and his confusion over what he was, what he needed to decide to be was exquisitely described. I wanted to comfort those poor Winchester boys.
And the hope at the end, the devotion of Sam to his brother leaves us believing Dean will make the right choice. He and Sam will continue their fight for righteousness and be victorious.

Interesting idea for what happened to Dean's ring....which bugs me to no end. Why did Kripke suddenly decide that any jewelry not relevant to the storyline should be done away with? You just don't do that when they've been wearing that jewelry for years!

Wow, I'm just speachless. I would have never thought up that. How earily that this could be the truth. It fits in so well with what is going on. No wonder Michael sees Dean as his true vessel. Excellent!

Loved the idea of Dean being the fifth horseman (witch, by the way, I have to admit I didn't know it existed) and linking it to Dean missing ring! Loved the Revelation quote ant the end, so appropriated!

Another good tag for MBV - this episode seems to have generated a lot of deep thinking! I saw someone else who mentioned Dean possibly being a horseman - they hadn't provided such a clear quote and I loved the naming of him as Trustworthy and Truth in your interpretation. Not sure Kripke will roll with your view on the ring, as I've seen him quoted as saying it had no significance that's why they allowed it to disappear - however, I also know lots of us fans loved that ring (it appears all over in fics too) so maybe he'll bring it back in towards the end! Wouldn't that be cool??!

I like how you've taking one of the great wonders of the Winchester universe, where DID Dean's ring go?, and linked it with the horseman storyline! Genius my dear ab-so-bloody-lutely genuis!

I haven't seen any of the new season, but I had to read your story even if it did contain spoilers. I'm glad I did, it was very moving and poor Sam, at least he came out of the detox OK, Does Dean think he's dead inside? Loved it loads. Thanks

Interesting. Loved the build up! And was pleasantly surprised at the end.
Not sure I want to touch this one with a ten-foot pole (lol!) but indeed the 'fifth horseman' does exist but is he really a horseman or the leader of the armies of God on a horse?
But I love the twist with Dean being the 5th horseman and connecting the ring he wears on the show was very clever!
I would love this to continue to see where you take this universe. So please consider it and my wholehearted enthusiasm.
