Yikes! What happened to Dean? Is he just trapped somewhere in all the rubble? I imagine he's in pretty bad shape. Bobby and Sam need to try and get to him! Sam is in bad shape mentally because he thinks Dean is dead, I'm hoping Bobby can do something. Looking forward to the next chapter.

Elaine, Yeah his fever broke. Poor Amelia; talk about stress. Yeah you have Cas in the story. I was hoping you would have. Glad Bobby called Cas to find Sam. they are both going to have to help Sam. course we all knew Sam would be blaming himself for Dean death. Poor Sam doesn't know Dean is alive. hope you won't keep him in the dark too long. great story look forward to every chapter. Renee

Yes!Amelia saved Dean's life. Awww...Poor Sam, thank goodness, Bobby and now Cas're there for him and maybe they'll find proof that DEan is still alive. Terrific story so far Silvertayl, I can't wait to know what'll happen next.

Another awesome chapter and YAY!!! Dean looks to have turned the corner.... I love the grief and guilt from Sam... very heartfelt and and true to course... also love that Bobby called in Cas. That also felt very appropriate under the circumstances. My favorite bits were when Amelia first started looking Dean over though- her inspection of all the marks and wounds on his body were so stark coming from a stranger. Her observations of his tattoo, his scars, but especially, the burn from Cas' hand really struck me. Kinda neat to see it from an outsider's perspective. I really liked that... well done! Great chapter- cant wait to see what happens next. Tree

What a fantastic, a heartbeat chapter! Dean's condition was touch and go for a while (and his terrible fever dream was a very obvious and scary sign of how serious it was, these were horrifying scenes and you could very well feel Dean's terror - wonder who the figure was, maybe Amelia's son and I have the feeling we will see him again) and without Amelia he wouldn't have made it. Loved she cared so much about this young stranger she prayed for him and it means even more as she vowed after her loss she'd never pray again. Oh and like Bobby I fear for Sam and I'm so glad he called Cas for help cause Sam is about to drown in his guilt and absolute despair ("...his expressive hazel eyes were red rimmed and filled with such abject misery and sadness, Cas was momentarily taken aback" Heartbreaking!). Sam desperately needs a bit of hope now! Can't wait for more!!!

Fantastic update! Right now I believe Dean - as badly hurt he is - is in a better place than Sam (Amelia btw is a great lady, like her already). For Sam it is a harrowing experience to think he lost his brother and something I honestly think he can't bear. I hope so much he won't lose his hope and as soon as possible learns the dead man isn't Dean. Still the search for Dean will be incredibly hard but I'm more than willing to follow Sam and you, it's such a grand story!

I just saw your story today, I check this site sporadically so I must have missed when you posted the first few chapters. Amelia must be one strong little lady to be able to move Dean and I can't wait for the next chapter to see how he's doing. She has a somewhat sad and lonely story that will unfold as the story goes along. But our beautiful Dean will bring something special to her life as you will see in later chapters. It's not only Dean you hurt here, I can't even imagine how horrible this must feel for Sam to think his brother is dead. The moment he showed Bobby Dean's bracelet was just heartbreaking. I hope Bobby's call at least will bring a bit of hope for Sam that Dean survived, he needs it desperately to go on and so does Dean, Sam just can't give up on him! I don't have a clue though how Dean will make it out of this river alive, he's hurt so bad. As always this was a wonderfully intense, great chapter!

AGHHHHHHH- ---- I'm surviving here only because you said this wasnt a death-fic... but omg- what a start.... you had me thinking that things were going to be bad enough with that teaser and then the whole time- with all that alcohol in the cellar- and Dean getting soaked in it- I just thought he was gonna get burned- but then the house exploding... yikes... so now I have to sit here and see how you manage to get them out of this one.. But the one thing I just had to love out of this- and it really should be the Winchester motto- or perhaps tattooed on them- Dean thought it sounded like a simple enough hunt. But when was anything simple when your name ended in Winchester. That was just priceless... Ok then... finish tweaking!!! and get writing!!!! Feed my need! LOL! Tree
