Hey Lisa! kinda stumbled across this one lol Must've missed it when you posted originally... Anyhow, it was great...good brotherly banter and a nice set up for season 3 if you ask me...better than the devil-may-care you can't change this attitude that Dean has on the show at the moment...but we must trust that Kripke has his reasons....

Okay, two things. Favorite line: "The present was real and nothing else mattered." AND -- I was listening to Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" as I read this, so... spooky. For me, anywway. There's one thing I didn't get -- did Dean make a deal for John in this? Because he's referring to John as though he's alive. Unless I just totally misread it. I had the season finale in my head while reading and was thinking of Dean saving Sam, and there is the fact that I can be easily confused. Ahem. *blushes* In any case, BIG goosebumps for the scene leaning against the Impala with Sam's "I don't care what it takes, I'm gonna save you"... whoa. Nicely done. :)
Author's Response: Thank you so much for reviewing! John was alive in this. I actually wrote this between parts 1 and 2 so before we knew what happened. The spoiler was out there that Dean was going to trade his soul for one year. My take on the theory was that Dean would only get one year in exchange for Sam, John, and the colt. Imagine my shock when we realize that Dean figured he was only worth a year in exchange for Sam! We know he is worth far more, but our dear boy has issues.... I admit it, when AHBL2 aired and they were leaning up against the Impala, I squealed..... So cool about the music....

Author's Response: You are totally on! I'm already working on the finale for S3!!! Actually have a new story - one week later = that should be validated soon.... I thought that once we had the season finale I'd be able to concentrate on my other work but it has totally ripped my heart out - damn Kripke! (in a good way;)) Still obsessed....

Just watched Part two and wanted to ask if you were psychic? Not bad Kripke even gave him only one year too. It was a great episode and thought the acting portrayed your story so well.
Author's Response: I have to admit I squealed - I'm not dead on (as it were) but hey, they were leaning up against the impala and Sam did vow to save Dean so.... I knew Kripke's version would be better! Hey! If I am psychic, does that mean I'm also part demon? Could I make a deal with Dean and force him to kiss me?

Interesting.... I can see this happening. I llive in the UK so have to wait to see this ending but doesn't stop me from checking out CW website and wishing someone back home in the USA can fill me in.

Niiice role reversal.....Sam's going to save Dean, and have that as his focus. Love that idea. If Dean does make the deal in the final episode you should put your hand up for screen writing duties on Supernatural lam - this would be a fantastic basis for a 3rd season! And you would have my 100% support! Need an assistant?
Author's Response: I'm so glad you liked it! I would love an assistant, and wouldn't we then be allowed to hang out on the set???? Strictly for inspirational purposes of course. One of the things I like about my fantasy is that it should satisfy everyone - Deangirls and Sammygirls!

Oh, lam - this was a great insight into Dean's head, and his reasons for doing what he does. But a little part of me can't help but hope that he finds another way, other than making a deal with that lying, yellow eyed sod. However, that takes nothing away from what was a beautiful little piece. I really enjoyed it. So - what would you prefer? Peanut M&M's, perhaps? Thanks for sharing this - and loved the implied hug at the end.....Jules
Author's Response: Thanks so much for the review. I don't have a problem with Dean making a deal because I don't believe that he would ever have any intention of going through with it - not that he wouldn't sacrifice himself in a heartbeat, but with a whole year at his disposal, he'd be totally convinced he'd find a way out of it. It's my own little way of having my M&M's and eating them too! And I was a bit evil with the hug, but I just totally picture the season ending with them stepping up to each other, arms wide open, and cut to black. They know we want a hug....

Author's Response: Thanks for the kind words. My little fantasies never seem to be all that close to the reality, but we shall see before much longer. I agree that the season finale will probably ask as many questions as it answers - giving us plenty of material to run with over the long, long summer!

Author's Response: I know a lot of people are all worried that Dean will make a deal and then die. I totally have faith in the boys getting out of it. I am also sure that Dean being the cocky bastard that he is wouldn't think for a second that he would ever have to actually go through with it. He would always think he could get out of it. He hasn't hustled pool and poker for all these years without learning something!

Ooh smart, of course Dean would make a deal with the demon to get Sam back. Heart stopped when you only gave him a year, makes sense though. Can't wait to see if your story fits the show.
Author's Response: Thanks for the review. I really wanted to get this posted before the final. It will all be moot once thursday is over. I suspect I'm way off the mark - Not even close to the evil genius that Kripke is!
