This is a great story and great idea!!! Certainly not one I have thought about, but everything here are things we've seen in the show and know they are a possibility. Combining them all is a great solution. I'm sorry Dean had to make the sacrifice, but Sam's not done yet I'm sure. You did say this was not a deathfic, so I'm counting on that. They are saying a  major character will make a sacrifice in a suicide mission in the 100th episode. This would certainly make a great twist, and something for the characters to focus on till the end of the season. Who knows what Kripke has going on in his twisted mind. He loves to mess with us fans. I can't wait for you next update. I'm anxious to see what Sam's going to do now, because we all know he will do something no matter what Dean told him.

Definitely not a deathfic, I've already got his return planned.

I didn't know that about the 100th. I wonder if it is Bobby? I have a feeling that he'll do something rash because of his legs? Can't wait to see.

Hmm... I want it to be longer, but that is to be expected with one of your stories. Nice, very nice. I can tell this is what I like to call 'a worm'. Something squirming around your brain? :D Nice one, though. And will it end this way? Who knows, but it wouldn't be unthinkable. But what I'd like to know is: What happens to Sam? But I guess that's the whole punch line, isn't it? We just dont know...

Hey, guess what? I was supposed to be longer! This is definitely something eat at my brain, ever since the eppy with Crowley I've been thinking what a waste of a character and would Dean ever think of making another deal? This is the result!
