aaaaw, frantic, worried and even scared.

I wish I could give them both a hug. Sam 'cause he anchored Dean, grounded his big bro without even knowing how desperately Dean needed some comfort.

And Dean. First of all because he is Dean and secondly because it is so touching to see him falter and struggle for composure in front of his baby bro. To witness him scared out of his mind because his dad might die. And it is so in character that the only thing that scare the living daylights out of that boy is that one integral part of his small beloved family might die.

I don't really know where this one came from - I just wanted to explore how Dean must have felt at these times when he was younger.  He had to grow up so fast it's easy to forget that he was just a kid too and no matter how tough kids are, they still want mum and dad when the going gets tough.

Thanks Moira.  Dean had a lot to contend with right from the start and I'm sure he wouldn't have managed without Sammy, whether he realised or not.
