Ember, Don't worry about the lack of feedback. Most people don't take the time. (not your fault). Seriously this is an amazing story! Definitely not too AU. Its a little different from anything else I've read which is one of the reasons I like it. The whole fireman gig and Dean/Drake now being the younger brother is cool. What I like best is how well you've written the boys. They are both damaged but still trying. Loved the scene between Dean and Drake. Wanted kick Drake's a** for taking the baggie...but it was what an addict would have done. Can't wait for Cass and Bobby to show up. Keep up the good work. I keep checking for updates a couple times a day :-)

Yay! Another update and it was today. Damn! I was so diappointed when Drake gave in to his addiction, espedcially after he couldn't give blood to sam because of it. I know that's life but it still hurt to see it happen to Drake. Cool that Dean confronts Drake. You're constantly changing things up so that I am forever left guessing about what will happen next. Wonderful!

This is one helluva roller coaster ride! Introducing Death into the mix was genius! I was intrigued that as long as Sam kept eye contact with Death, he couldn't see Drake. You have to update very soon---today! I'm dying for more!

This keeps getting better and better! First the whole drug thing with Drake, then him finding John's journal and Sam's fake I. D.'s and arsenal. I was amazed that all of Drake's scars were gone. now Death is coming to Sam to take him. This story is a speeding freight train! How do you do it? And keep doing it!

OMG! Fantastic chapter! I was on the edge of my seat. There were times when I thought Dean was peeking out and then you smashed that by Drake calling Sam Jake. Awwww! I'm rushing off to the next chapter.

Fabulous! I wasn't expecting Drake to take Sam to his brother's grave. I'm eager to find out exactly what happened to Drake after his brother was killed. You left it such a mystery.

Another exciting chapter! You had me on the edge of my seat. Interesting idea, that Dean became who he was because he had nothing to lose and a crusade to win. Wow! Incredible! I was stunned when the address of the fire was at Drake's house. Fire taking his mother just like in the canon was brilliant (if it happens)! I'm sure Sam is going to try his best to make certain that doesn't happen. Again, loved the reference to time "not the other 12:30". I also like that Drake is a combination of Jensen and Dean. It's interesting for Sam to not only see the differences between Dean and Drake as well as the similarities.

Actually there were two knives, the one that Sam dropped when Death asked him to and the one that appeared in the Death's hand which is the one Drake threw into the wall. Sorry for any confusion. The exchange between Drake, Rico and Gary was great. Just one more example of the connections and friendships Dean has formed as Drake. "oh, I could have sworn you meant the other eleven o'clock." Beauty! I loved the excuses Drake came up with. Ughhh! I'd leave more comments but I'm on my daughters laptop and she wants to use it. I'll finish reading and reviewing later. Damn! Ok, so the whole Death coming to see Sammy, so did not see that coming! I am thoroughly enjoying this story and I can't wait to see the next chapter. Sam seems like a little lost child without Dean, lashing out at Drake even though he now has to act like the big brother. I love the role reversal!

Isn't that just like a winchester not tohang around a hospital? The words between Drake and Sam were very well thought out, strategically placed. Advice on brothers straight from the horses mouth. In the last chapter i thought that Drake would think Sam was his brother returning as his guardian angel too. I guess that's too cliche. Glad you changed it up a bit.
Author's Response: lol, yeah Winchesters are not very good at staying in the hospital so it just seemed natural for them both to leave. I think Drake would consider any and all possibilities as to why he feels so connected to Sam - Of course I doubt he would go for the whole his soul belonged to Dean first thing.
