Awwww! So very touching yet light-hearted.
When Dean said, "you know, she sang to you too" I could actually see Jensen delivering that line. After that the entire scene played out in my mind.
I love that Dean was able to give Sam a memory. And that is a precious gift! Maybe Sam doesn't actually remember it happening but he can reconstruct it in his mind.
I was very touched by the little details you mentioned: the songs Mary sang, the stories she read to them, the giggle fits and tickle fests, and especially the fact that she placed Sam in Dean's lap when she read to them. That was sweet.
Naturally, Dr. Seuss would be Dean's favorite. Isn't it every kids fave? And that leads us to Green Eggs and Ham. The fact that his brother's name was in the book would have made it his personal favorite.
Oh, and when Mary said the Dean book hadn't been written yet--- perfect answer. There's so much caring in this piece. You've captured the innocence of their childhood and given them a break from their burdens.

A very sweet, toughing story, and still true to the characters of the boys. I really enjoyed reading it. It would be nice if we could see a scene in the show where Dean shares memories with Sam, even memories of what their dad was like before their mother was killed.

I am actually a great fan of Dr. Seuss stories and I loved how you allowed the brothers to share such a monumental moment in their usual banter. Dean is an awesome big brother and I never tire of stories of him and Sam when thery were young. This was beautiful!

Aw, that is freaking adorable and heartwreching at the same time. I loved hearing Dean's memories of his mother on the episode and would love to see him sharing some of them with Sam. At least in your fic it actually happens. Thanks for sharing.
