Marvelous! We even get the point of view of the bad guy. "and the expression on his face right then and there- that's a look I'll never forget. It said he knew somewhere deep down inside something was wrong, but instead of trusting his gut instincts, he trusted his brother- he trusted me." That passage speaks volumes of Dean's weakness when it comes to his brother. He ignores what he thinks to put blind faith in what he wants life to be.

I completely understand Dean staring at the door when he should be out looking for his brother. You think they'll be back any minute. Then the minute becomes an hour. It was easy to put myself in Dean's position. What a sweet big brother, taking care of Sammy even when he wants to knock some sense into him. In just two chapters, you've captured their relationship fabulously.

I love the first person point of view! What an exciting beginning! I can't wait to read more. "Then everything turned from blood-soaked red to hellish black." Very creepy and descriptive.

Hmm.....didn't see that coming. Had no idea it was actually an angel until Michael revealed who he was. But I still think he's wrong about free will. Wondering now, given the look at the bloke on the road and the flash of golden eyes, whether the shifter was real or Michael's creation. I'm glad that the boys both had a bad feeling, and Dean acted on it, so the cycle of events wouldn't happen all over again. And I'm glad Michael made them forget the horrors they'd seen. Oh my gosh....you killed Bobby. Brave woman..... Or is Dean locked in another vision caused by Devin and Bobby's actually okay? I hope Dean can figure out what Devin is, and soon. And Sam - is he dead, or is it just Dean's tortured mind? Gah! Too many questions. Sorry I haven't been around lately - lotsa stuff happening and not enough me to take care of it all.

What a hell of a choice......and what a terrible vision that Devin plunked them into. And how does he know so much about what might happen in the boys' future? Thank heavens Sam managed to push him out long enough to show Dean where he was, and with Dean being the expert tracker that he is, I have no doubt that he'll find Sam. But what a dilemma he now finds himself in. Which one will he choose to go after? I'm pretty certain it will be Sam, as he's definitely the most vulnerable, and all of Dean's life he's been geared to protecting Sammy.......but at what cost? Jules

Wonder who Dean saw..... Who is this Devin? And how did he find out so much about what is going to happen? Is he a demon? And will this final scene send Sam over the edge like Devin said he'd do to the youngest Winchester on the astral plane? Dean is caught up in the illusion as well - that can only be bad. If he's that distracted, he won't be able to find a way to where the bad guys have got Sam stashed away. Things are looking grim for our heroes.... Jules

So, as well as Jayson having a grudge against Dean, his freaky friend Devin is out for revenge against John Winchester, and isn't above going after his sons to get it. And just who, or what, is Devin, anyway? And how much does he really know about the Winchesters to be able to give Dean a horrifying glimpse of his future in Hell? This doesn't bode well for Dean getting Sam back unharmed...... Jules

Love Dean in full hunt mode, and love seeing a peek at his deductive reasoning when he found the bottle and realised exactly what was going on. He really can put a puzzle together and come up with the right solution. That's why he and Sam are such an awesome team. Jayson has no idea what he's up against, and what lengths Dean will go to, to get his brother back. He'll literally walk through fire to rescue Sam. And heaven help Jayson and his weird little voodoo friend. That was spooky how the voodoo-bloke knew Dean was on that astral plane. Oh, almost forgot - it was a beautiful moment when Dean relaxed inside the Impala and the chant worked. So it was the real Sam who managed to pull Bobby out from under the falling Impala - no wonder Bobby was confused as to who had rescued him. The whole pictures in the mind thing was really well done - the gun turning into a snake, etc. Dean's up against a formidable opponent - well, two, actually, because Jayson's still on the loose and can't be dealt with just yet. But my money's on Dean. And I really loved that last line: "What you're forgetting is that I saved my brother that night," I shouted into the darkness, "and I'll damn well di it again. So give it your best shot, you sonuvabitch, cause I'm coming for you!" Loved that. That is so Dean. And that's no idle threat - that's a solemn promise. Bouncing impatiently on my office chair waiting for another update. Sheesh, now I know what I've put others through - ROFL! Jules

Now the hoodoo guy on the other hand, well, that's a different story entirely. And I believe Dean will save Sam. I think it's fantastic that Dean has figured it out, that "Sam" is a shapeshifter, and his true Sam is being held in a different plane of existence. Looking forward to seeing how Dean gets them out of this fix!

I absolutely love that Dean just senses something is not right with "Sam", he knows something is way off kilter. Dean is sensing the other true Sam and will do everything in his power to get back to him. I can't wait to read the next part!!
