Just brilliant as always, i'd always wondered about them getting John's body back to Bobby's, you filled in the blanks perfectly, thanks for writing this amazing story.

I'd wondered that, too, and the fact that they jumped in the show from burning John's body - which left us to wonder how they got him and themselves out of the hospital - to Dean working on the car at Bobby's -again without explaining how the invitation came about for the boys to stay. 

So I scratched that itch, and came up with this to satisfy my freaky mind's craving for order. It felt right that Bobby would just naturally step in and take the boys under his wing - they really had no one else at that time except for him, despite the fact that they'd just re-established communication with him after at least a few years estrangement. And Bobby's an amazing character - I love his tough love for the brothers. 

So chuffed that you loved this.

You've given potential answers to so many questions that had plagued me since IMTOD.  How did they get John's body out, what happend to his vehicle, and others...

I think you must be channeling Bobby! He certainly feels right, as Bobby should be. A father figure,a support.

Just one thing...what episode was it that we find out that Bobby knew about Johns last words to Dean? I certainly missed that part, somehow!

Great story, well told in Bobby's POV. Good to read on a wintery day...so now off to dig the car out of 10" of snow!! Ah well...lol

Channelling Bobby? Oh, gosh, Jacq, I hope so - for this story anyway - lol.

Thank you. There are certain things that bug me from time to time. The sale of John's truck was one. How the boys came to stay at Bobby's after John's death was another one. And a third in a long list was how Sam ended up with the petrol receipt in his pocket that had been signed by Dean in AHBL (took care of that itch with Resort Breagadoir). So my tidy mind likes to fill in the blanks so it's all nice and neat. 

The episode where it's revealed that Bobby knew what John had said - S5 eppy 1 Sympathy for the Devil. I'll email you with the details - don't want to put that big a spoiler into a review for a S2 story, just in case someone reads it and gets upset. And rightly so. 

Ten inches of snow???? We've had rain and temperatures hovering at around 29 to 30C. It's muggy today, and the sun is out, so I'm catching up on the washing....oh, joy.....clothes, sheets, towels - what an exciting day......

Thanks so much for that - hope you manage to dig the car out all right. My beta tells me she's had trouble getting to work because of all the snow England's getting. But she was able to send me some really gorgeous pics of the snowy woods near her home.

thankyou so much for that, it was just heartwrenching. You've kept the characters so true to canon, they're emotions are so raw and heartbreaking. I always wondered what happened between Sam finding John and them burning the body and that was so believable. Absolutely perfect.

Whew, I'm relieved at that. Tackling Bobby was hard - especially since I wanted to get him absolutely right. I adore Bobby, and I think he's just been so wonderful for those boys. I'm always stoked to see an episode with Bobby in it. 

Glad to see that this scratched a particular itch you had about that time period too. I suppose one good thing about Kripke's gaps in the timeline is that it allows we fanfic writers to play in the missing days - lol.

Okay, haven't finished reading yet, but I know it's going to be great. I've often wondered what was going on with Bobby during that time and hated that we didn't get to see him.

Will write a real review when I get finished reading, but wanted to thank you for writing this.

One of the questions that bugged me was not only how the boys got to Bobby's to stay - how that came about - but also what the flip happened to John's truck. I actually posed the question in a forum on another site but no one had an answer for me. Well, not one that was established in canon. 

So I filed the thought away for a couple of years until this plot bunny started popping up and nipping at my heels.
