Reviews For Saving Sammy

Oh I like the idea of going to rescue Castiel from heaven.  Except that Castiel SAID not to, silly boys.  I hope they're able to find a way to help Sam.  Good chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks so much!  I'm glad you liked it.  I'm thinking about doing a sequel but it would be totally AU (which I've never done).  But I may have a go at it when I finish the current story I'm working on.

That was a lovely moment when Cas knocked Sam out and whispered in his ear who he was - "You're Dean Winchester's brother." I hope that Sam remembered that when he woke up.

Poor Cas, having to go with that slimeball - oh, and forgot to mention in the last chapter - that bit when Dean looked out the window and Zachariah waved - I wanted to smack that smarmy a**ehole clear into next week!

Loved the dream, and both boys being in it this time instead of Cas just appearing to Dean. Sam just broke my heart, struggling with his addiction, that quietly voiced protest when Cas suggested him coming off the demon blood gradually - that was well done.

But I loved the end, with Sam on a mission to find out how to bust Cas out of heaven - lol.

Great job, Sonya.

Jules

Author's Response:

Sam definitely remembered that when he woke up.  That was the whole idea in my mind when I wrote that part.

Can't you just see Zachariah standing out there waving at them?  I hate him so much!

I loved the idea of Cas coming to them both in the dream.  I think I've said it before but I want more interaction between Sam and Cas.

Thanks for all your reviews, Jules.  I really appreciate it.

"Good, because I want you out of this room."

Loved that line. Loved Dean's decisiveness, especially in the light of the scare he was given when that slimy used car salesman masquerading as a high level angel put his hands on Sam. That scream of agony must have gone right through Dean's soul.

Poor Sam is at the end of his rope - barely escaping death, only to be told that he still has to get through the withdrawals from the demon blood. Could just see that spoon dropping from Sam's hand in shock when Cas said he was making sure Sam's eyes weren't black.

And now they know that Cas made a deal.....explosion imminent.

Jules

Author's Response: I think that after what happened in When the Levee Breaks neither brother would be too anxious to spend any time in that panic room again.  I hope they actually bring that into the show.

Shame this is finished but I guess the way season 5 has gone precludes taking this idea further (given that you don't like going outside canon!) as this story has still got some potential.  However, let's see what the rest of Season 5 brings eh?  Kripke did say Sam was going to have problems and we haven't seen much of that yet - wonder if there will be some fireworks on 21st in the aslylum....

PS one typo in Ch7 you have a 'defensives' instead of 'defences'...

Author's Response:

Yeah, I should get over that thing about writing outside canon, shouldn't I?  If I don't hurry up and get Hope Abandoned finished before January 21 I guess I won't have much choice!  Thanks for the reviews, AMB!

Thanks for pointing out the typo...off to fix it now...and oh yeah, it's defenses in the US. :)

Good to know Cas is okay and he and Anna working together. Loved that he came to both brothers in the same dream. I understand why Sam would be happy to hear that he will be alright. I also thought it was great that he is thinking about busting Cas out, just like Dean is. Great story. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response:

Thanks so much for all the reviews and encouraging words.  I'm glad you liked the story!

I would love to see Cas and Anna working together on the show to help the boys......

Reviewer: saltnburnem (Signed) · Date: 10/01/10 08:26 PM · On: Chapter 7

Loved it!!  Sorry that Cas had to split, but he'll do better in heaven than Bobby would have in hell.  I liked the boys dreaming together.  Nice place for Cas to come and "visit".  Good job, Sonya.  Cool story idea, too.  At first it seemed like it was the blood addiction thing alone that was killing him, but then the Zach connection....again, neat idea!

Author's Response:

I'm glad  you liked it, Terri.  Thanks for all the reviews! :)

Reviewer: Primrose (Signed) · Date: 06/01/10 11:20 PM · On: Chapter 6

*grins*  I am wrong to be so pleased that we get to see Sam still struggling with his addiction.  I know the writers didn't want to spend the whole season with Sam having the shakes, but I thought they fixed things too neatly to be satisfying.   Good job!

Author's Response: Thanks so much!  I thought they fixed things too neatly with Sam too.  I keep hoping it might come back up.....not that I want Sam to go darkside (because I certainly don't) but I just feel like the demon blood addiction is still there.  He may have gotten a miraculous detox but he could always fall off the wagon.

Reviewer: vonnie836 (Signed) · Date: 06/01/10 08:59 PM · On: Chapter 6

Well, this was painful, but at least Sam is better. Now it sounds like he still has to fight the addiction and from what Cas says, he might not make it. And they know now that Cas has to go with Zach. All of this is pretty bad. Great story. I look forward to more. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response: I've got one more chapter for you Vonnie.  Hope you continue to like it!  Thanks for all your reviews!

Reviewer: mizpah (Signed) · Date: 06/01/10 02:25 PM · On: Chapter 5

Dean's right - he can't trust that slimeball. But he seems to be Sam's only hope.....perhaps.

I hope Cas is right though, and that Zachariah doesn't pull a swifty. It would be so easy for him to pretend to try and then just shrug and say - "oh, I was too late. Sorry about that."

I wouldn't put it past him.

Jules

Author's Response: Zachariah is like a shady politician.  I wouldn't trust him but I would trust Cas.

Reviewer: Primrose (Signed) · Date: 05/01/10 10:37 PM · On: Chapter 5

I got behind!  It's interesting that everyone is willing to go to lengths to save Sam.  All for different reasons.  Some selfish, some unselfish.  I'm glad that there's forgiveness for him.  There!  All caught up!

Author's Response:

I think Sam just has that affect on people.  I'd go to great lengths to save him!  I posted chapter six also but it hasn't went up yet.  I don't know if it will go up tonight or if it will be sometime tomorrow.

Thanks for reviewing!

Reviewer: vonnie836 (Signed) · Date: 05/01/10 10:23 PM · On: Chapter 5

I understand why Dean wants to kill Zachariah, I want a piece of him myself. He is not really an angel in my eyes. I'm glad Castiel was there and at least Dean trusts him. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response: I can't wait to see Zachariah get what's coming to him one of these days.  No, he's not an angel in my eyes either.  He's one of those villians you love to hate.

Reviewer: Amberdreams (Signed) · Date: 05/01/10 02:25 PM · On: Chapter 4

That Zach is such a slimeball, eh? I wouldn't trust him near Sammy....awaiting the next instalment with great interest!

Author's Response:

Yes, Zachariah is a slimeball and a few other choice words I'll leave to your imagination.  Thanks AMB!

Reviewer: vonnie836 (Signed) · Date: 05/01/10 07:49 AM · On: Chapter 4

How awful, Sam is dying and he knows it and so does Dean. But it's a wonderful picture to see Dean cradle Sammy. Amazing to see this brotherly love. And Castiel really surprises me. He is seeing this love and because of it is willing to sacrifice himself. Hope Zachariah is not going to play games this time. This is a great story. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response:

I love the image of Dean cradling Sam in his arms.  Gives me goose bumps.  They definitely love each other this much, they just never show it like this on the show.  Ah, the joys of fanfiction! :)

I think Castiel has learned a lot from watching the brother's relationship.  Let's just hope he knows what he's getting into with Zachariah......

Reviewer: zz1989 (Signed) · Date: 05/01/10 12:17 AM · On: Chapter 4

Oh, I hope nothing is going to happen to Bobby or Cass.  I like them almost as much as I do Dean and Sam.   Of course, if it is between one of the brothers and Bobby or Cass, save the brothers!  :p  I can't wait for the next chapter.  Great story!

Author's Response: Thanks so much! I'm glad you like it!  I don't want anything to happen to any of them either.  Just wonder what Kripke's plans are.....

Reviewer: saltnburnem (Signed) · Date: 04/01/10 10:30 PM · On: Chapter 4

I hope Cas is right and he can trust Zach enough to go to Sam and Dean.  That last line is a killer!  If Dean has resorted to praying....things are bad!  Nice chapter.

Author's Response: Yeah, you know it's a pretty desperate situation if Dean is praying!  Thanks!

Reviewer: mizpah (Signed) · Date: 04/01/10 03:04 PM · On: Chapter 4

I hate Zachariah, the smarmy, lying......I hope that he's first in line for a fatal swat when Cas finally finds God in the show.

But it seems that he might be the only hope for Sammy. I hope Cas knows what he's doing - Dean is going to go off like a firecracker when he sees that conniving sod walk into the panic room.

But if he's praying....that sounds like an act of pure desperation....*chews nails*.....

Talk about being between a rock and a hard place - Sam's life against Zachariah's treachery.

Yikes...

Jules

Author's Response:

I totally hate Zachariah too and I really hope Cas is the one to finish him off on the show.  He was wicked fun to write though. :)

Thanks for the reviews, Jules.

Reviewer: mizpah (Signed) · Date: 04/01/10 02:57 PM · On: Chapter 3

Heartbreaking scene between the boys, and I almost lost it when Sam said he'd done this to himself.

Thank heavens Bobby was stopped from making a deal - both Winchesters would have been devastated if they lost their surrogate father. But I could understand Bobby's level of desperation.

Hmm, wonder what Cas is planning....?

Jules

Author's Response: I could totally see Bobby sacrificing himself for the boys.  He kinda did this season, didn't he?  The boys wouldn't be the only ones devastated if they lost their surrogate father.

Reviewer: zz1989 (Signed) · Date: 03/01/10 10:28 PM · On: Chapter 3

I love both brothers, but I do tend to lean toward Sam.  I love the relationship the boys used to have, and I wish the writers hadn't put distance between them.   I am enjoying your story even if it is AU at this point.   It is still a great story so I hope you will continue to post it.

Author's Response:

I'm actually a Dean girl but I have this HUGE soft spot for Sam.  I miss the relationship the brother's used to have also, but I believe they can have that strong bond again as long as they are honest with each other.

I will definitely continue to post as long as people continue to read!  I just posted chapter 4 but it hasn't been validated yet.  Thanks so much for the review!

Reviewer: saltnburnem (Signed) · Date: 01/01/10 04:30 PM · On: Chapter 3

It's nerve-wracking that Sammy's so sick and Dean can't help him.  Yeah Cas!  I don't wanna lose Sam, but I don't wanna lose Bobby, either.  BTW, your banners are beautiful!!

Author's Response: Aren't they awesome?  I love them!  Some very talented and nice people on this web site.  Thanks for the review, Terri.

Reviewer: vonnie836 (Signed) · Date: 01/01/10 03:17 PM · On: Chapter 3

Yes, Sammy knows how much Dean loves him. And now Bobby is trying to make a deal. Good Castiel is there and intervenes. Wonder what he has in mind though. Awesome job with this story. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response: You would think these people would quit making deals but I could totally see Bobby giving himself up for his "boys".  Thanks for the review!

Reviewer: vonnie836 (Signed) · Date: 01/01/10 02:58 PM · On: Chapter 2

Sammy is in such poor shape and yet the most important thing for him is to tell Dean the truth. And Dean actually seems to forgive him. And he confessed to Castiel that he can't do it without Sam that nothing else matters. This really was wonderful and sad in light of Sam dying. Hugs, Vonnie

Author's Response: Thanks!  I felt like Sam would want to tell the truth after all the destruction to their relationship the lies brought in season 4.

Reviewer: Amberdreams (Signed) · Date: 01/01/10 12:09 PM · On: Chapter 3

Aha - Bobby is awesome and of course he'd do that for his boys - just as well Cas has a conscience as well as his newly awakening humanity (thanks to Dean....)

This is getting stronger each chapter!

Author's Response: Thanks AMB.  Bobby is pretty awesome, isn't he?

Reviewer: Amberdreams (Signed) · Date: 31/12/09 08:35 AM · On: Chapter 2

Nope I missed this entirely on FF, don't know how that happened!  Anyhoo, really liked this one,and of course leads into your current Hope Abandonned, with Sammy breaking down further...

Author's Response: What is it with me being so mean to Sammy?  I think it's because I just want to comfort him when he's so despondent.  Glad you like it, AMB!

Reviewer: supernaturalfan (Signed) · Date: 31/12/09 08:33 AM · On: Chapter 2

Great start for this story!! I'm glad you tied up a few loose ends that have actually bugged me, too. The message on Sam's phone. I wish they would have brought that out in the show, and Ruby's car. You did a great job giving those closure. I doubt will see anything about Castiel letting Sam out of the panic room at this point, although it would be a great way for Lucifer to try and drive a wedge between Castiel and the boys. We'll see. I look forward to your next chapter. You've made a great start here so keep writing and I'll keep reading.

Jane

Author's Response:

Of all the loose ends that are still on the show, I think Cas opening the panic room door might be the only one that they address and for exactly the reason you stated.  Although I could see Zachariah being the one to blow the whistle on Cas.

Thanks for reading and reviewing!

Reviewer: Primrose (Signed) · Date: 31/12/09 07:45 AM · On: Chapter 2

Seeing the boys' strained relationship this season was so hard, I think I'd prefer seeing Dean be this supportive and worried instead.  Very nice.

Author's Response: Thanks!  Yeah, the relationship between the boys in season 4 just broke my heart but since Dean did everything he could to get to Sam in Lucifer Rising I decided to take that and run with it.  No matter what Sam has done, they will always be brothers.
