I love this!

"To drive my car down an open road heading for a beach with a beautiful girl by my side and our kid asleep on the back seat"

Has anyone else noticed Dean seems to be thinking about these things in life a lot lately. He has become the philosophical one, now! Team Free Will and all that! Um...One more thing I am officially asking permission to use this line! PLEASE!!!!

Author's Response: Sorry I haven't replied before, I haven't worked out how to get alerts on this site!  Thanks for the review and by all means quite me if you want!  Yes, Dean has turned a little more introspective while Sam is going slightly more gung ho - but I think the potential was always there before, it's just that he's become less good at suppressing his innermost desires in the face of all the death and destruction...

So poignantly sad, and so Dean to leave the most important things to him till the very last.

I did love the final short list though, with Sammy at the top. It shows the love is still there, even after everything they've been through.

Jules

Author's Response: Yes you'd hope so, wouldn't you.... Apologies for being slow to respond, I've only just realised I had some more reviews on these older stories and haven't worked out if there is an alert system on this site.

Very much what Dean would want, good one.

I love pissed off Dean!  Good ideas for his obvious 1st requests, more honest 2nd choices and his painfully-dragged-from-his heart desires for the future.  Unfortunately, with Winchester luck, it'll be a miracle if he just gets some sleep:(   Good job Anne-Marie!

Author's Response: Thanks Terri (and everyone else!!!) - I always think choosing Carry on My Wayward Son as the Winchester theme song was cruel - there just doesn't seem to be an end where that promised rest will ever come!

aw... Heh. He's having a little chick flick moment there near the end... lol.

And yeah, I bet he wants these things and I hope he gets some rest and dreamless sleep soon. He and Sammy must be abso-friggin-lutely spent.

I guess writing the letter has been carthatic after all, huh? He really opened up. For a short moment.

Thanks for this one... I like some swearwords in a Letter to Santa. Puts it all into perspective...  LOL.

Cheers, RC

How very sad. I do believe deep down Dean really wants a girl and a baby and a real life. Poor guy. And of course what he really wants is just to sleep without dreaming. When does he sleep?

Author's Response: It was that little scene in "Dream a Little Dream of Me" that really gave it away wasn't it? And yes - those boys never get any rest....

Oh!  Man!  He starts off so superficial, and when he gets down to the bottom and finally writes what he REALLY wants....sigh.  Good one.

Aw, poor Dean.  To think that happiness is too much to ask for.  *sniff*  If anyone deserves happiness, it's these two boys.

Author's Response: You can trust me to be miserable on Dean's behalf!
