Cute way to end it!  Poor John.

"yeah, it's you, you jolly old son of a bitching elf"  My favorite line!  Had me laughing till I got the hiccups.

This is just amazing, Cowgirl! - You've nailed John's voice on the nose - how heart-wrenching this is- and this is surely the one & only letter Bad Daddy Winchester ever wrote to Santa- Well done!

Author's Response: Thanks so much,Catz! And thanks for the facebook invite.

Aww!  That's so sad, but so John.  And the last part about forgiveness....*sniff!*  Good job!

Author's Response: Thank you. I hope with his death that John got what he deserved...forgiveness, peace and to finally rest.

I really liked this.  I could really see John asking for all those things for his Christmas list.

Author's Response: Thank you very much. So glad you liked it.

How very sad! John is alread hard and unyielding and his boys are only 10 and 6, but at least he knows of his weakness's and is asking for help.

Author's Response: Hi! I couldn't agree more that he knew all of his weaknesses but hadn't the time or means to correct them. If only he had believed.

You have always written John so very well- this is absolutely no exception.  Outstanding.

Author's Response: Thanks so much Miss Rose. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Oh boy. Quite a list. Such few words with such huge impact on me...

I went from

a grin (jolly old son of a bitching elf, LMAO)

to a sad smirk (Uzi for Dean at that age... plus the fact that he knows how to use it... argh and heh),

to an imperious nod (patience not to snap... could have asked not only for not snapping at Dean but Sam as well. Guess he didn't think of Sam being in his face in the later years at every effing second)

to a determined set in my jaws (detachment... dang if he didnt get that for more than killing...)

to clutching my heart (courage) thinking of IMTOD and the whole of season 2. Man... that messed up Dean for a whole year (and maybe even longer...) and again he got that one.

to a sudden stinging sensation in my eyes (forgiveness). No, I wasnt crying (*covertly wipes eyes*)! 's damn dusty here! I truly hope he was able to make amends and forgive himself. I think the jury is still out on the boys' ability to truly do that. There have been quite a few remarks lately that show they really try but somehow havent found it in them to forgive John completely... or maybe it's just my own inability to do that. I like John and even more after this little  ficlet. Still, I always come to the point of getting angry about his parenting skills. Sure, he had to make some harsh decisions. But I would say he couldve done a lot better...

This letter and the facts we have come to know about the Winchesters have me wondering though. Is it possible that Santa truly exists? John sure got most of his wishes... hmm. Maybe I should try to behave and write a letter ... just in case...

Thanks for sharing this one! And congrats on the feature!

Cheers, RC

Author's Response: Thanks soooo much RC. Your amazingly thoughtful review looks to be longer than my little ditty. I've always loved John Winchester and being a single mother of two girls (now mostly grown) I can relate to his triumphs and his failures. So glad you liked it.

hahahahaa --- This one is awesome!!!! - "...Bet you're sorry I just didnt ask for an Uzi.." That's gotta be one the best lines I've read...

Yep- I think if Papa Win woulda have wrote one- this might have been it! There's a lot of sincerity woven within the sacarsm- and you can see a tad of where Dean will get his biting wit later on...

Great job!

Author's Response: Oh, my! Thanks so much and the pretty ribbon is such a nice Christmas surprise.

Poor John just has so much angst to deal with as well as knowing he cannot even give his boys a decent Christmas...good one

Jacq

Author's Response: Thanks Jacq! Not only did the YED steal Sam and Dean's childhoods but he stole the joys of fatherhood from John.
