Loved, loved this story! First you make me cry (poor Sam), and scream and seat on the edge of my seat (you do not trow Dean off a cliff! you bad woman! ;-) ), then you make smile and go all awww (Sam praying for his brother!) and then you make me laugh (just the idea of seeing Cas with a party hat, lol) and worry about Dean and you finish it with a nice chick flick moment (and a perfect one too). Great story! I love Sam and Dean. I also like Bobby and Cas so it was double bonus having a great story that included them.

Nice chick flick moment to end the story of your life! Hey and less of the pretty old, what does that make me? Ancient!! Love the image of Cas in a party hat, of course Dean would crack under all that attention but pulling back into the brother dialogue to make Sam see his own worth was also spot on - Deano wouldn't indulge himself and wallow for too long if Sammy needed a boost. Now you need to have a few ideas for your next one....we'll expect more long ones from now on you know!

Bring on the chick flick moments - there should be more of them - LOL. I for one am glad that you got the opportunity to re-pursue your childhood dream and write, even though the journey to this point was hard and at times heartbreaking. But you're a great storyteller, and your passion for the boys really shows through. Thank you, not only for being brave enough to post and allow us to read your wonderful work, but for that awesome mental image of Cas in a party hat, noisemaker in hand. ROFL! Poor Dean - he almost completely lost it in the end. And I loved what he said to Sam about God not answering the prayer of an unworthy soul. Yeah, Dean is going to be alright. I think God had it planned all along, but he was waiting for Sam to ask for help, for him to save Dean. Castiel was great, encouraging Sam to pray and telling him the story of Paul. I really loved how you brought this all into this chapter and showed the love, forgiveness and saving grace God has for us. Loved this chapter. I'm going to be sad to see this end, but I'm confident I'm going to see more stories from you soon. Hugs, Vonnie

I had tears in my eyes for pretty much the whole chapter. That was so poignant. One of the saddest things about season 4 was the steady erosion and eventual disintegration of Sam's faith. He was the one who believed in angels and God, yet he was the one tainted by demon blood and cursed before he was born. It was just so tragic, and his faith made up a huge part of who Sam was. So that was a lovely moment in the chapel with Cas trying to help Sam pray. Looking forward to the reunion between the brothers when Dean wakes up. Jules

Ooh, I was right - that did hurt. Poor Dean lying there so broken, dying - wishing on a falling star to get back to his brother. That was so sad. And Sam, the shock of seeing his brother cradled in Cas' arms, lifeless and bleeding - is it going to push him completely over the edge? Will he try to make a deal for Dean's life? I loved God coming to the rescue, answering both Cas' and Dean's prayers. And I could just imagine the shock on Lucifer's face when that lightning bolt came out of nowhere. Wonderfully done. Jules

Don't mean to be picky but I think you meant Dean to land on a ledge in a precipice in the first para...a precipice is a sheer drop/rock face - unless it has a different meaning in the US (which wouldn't be the first time)! Otherwise - Love Cas pulling a Dean and getting the hell out of Dodge; obviously love Cas to the rescue; can't hear anyone using the words 'sit a spell' without echoes of the YED; love how literal Cas is in giving Sam his minute. Hope you make good use of your day off to update again soon! I am wondering how you will finish...

That. Is. Going. To. Hurt. So glad the dreamcatcher worked, and both brothers finally got a good night's sleep. But oh, crap, Cas just walked into a trap, and dragged Dean with him. Well, it wasn't Cas' fault, but still - he should have known better than to trust a demon. All they do is lie. And now he's trapped, and Dean's become Lucifer's frisbee. Things are definitely up the creek in a barbed wire canoe and no paddle in sight. Sam's going to schitz when Dean doesn't reappear in a reasonable amount of time. Or is Lucifer going to torture him with word of his brother's death to make him lose hope again and say yes? Scary times ahead. Jules
Author's Response: Cas was a little careless, wasn't he? He wants to find his Father so badly that he's taking chances he shouldn't. I think the brother's can relate to that. I would say it's a good thing Dean went with him to keep him out of trouble but it doesn't really appear to be a good thing for Dean, does it?
