Poor Bobby! That would have been unendurable to see the hope die in little Dean's eyes. "The boy had never again written another letter to Santa Claus, wished upon a shooting star, prayed to his guardian angel. That year make-belief had left Dean's life for good." That passage almost made me weep.
Author's Response: Damn right. It would've killed me to see that happen. Not enough that he lost his mom. Now he's lost his remaining innocence, his childhood belief in magic. So sad. Thanks again for takin' the time to comment! Very much appreciated! Have a Merry Christmas, my dear! See you on the other side! Cheers, Ilka

Awww! The letter is visually beautiful and Dean's wish for his mom is heart-wrenching.
Author's Response: Hey Shannon. Thanks for the review(s)! I can only imagine that a boy who has lost his mommy would wish for that. And it hurts me to think ANY boy would need to write such a letter... I hadda go for the poster instead of simply typing it. Felt wrong (not just coz my spellcheck went completely nuts with the words...lol). Seems just the right thing to show the letter as it would have looked like. Glad you liked it! Cheers, Ilka

Oh, sniff, you got me. Now I've got to find something happy to read, quick. But awesome story/drabble/concept/whatever. Sue
Author's Response: aw, sorry Sue... I just can't do anything without angst... sorry. But I have a remedy. Go read One More Christmas by MusicalLuna. It's soooo sweet and made me smile this mornin. Should help. Thanks for droppin me a few lines tho! ~Ilka

This is really sweet! Even Bobby got in on it. Couldn't help saying something about this one too. I loved it! It explains why Dean is so skeptical about anyone offering him something good and why he expects bad to happen all the time. And Sam the fact that Sam and his greif were mentioned here too, too much! I think i'm going to cry!
Author's Response: Hey, sorry, this took so long. Been reading and voting for the awards... Still, THANKS for reading and reviewing! I feel so bad for making all you fine people cry... most of the time... But then again, I am glad that the story reverberates with you! Thx!, Ilka

OMG! This is really sweet. I can so see the image of the cute little Dean Winchester writing this to Santa.
Author's Response: Heehee! Just typing this in wouldn't have been the same! Thanks for the stars! Cheers, Ilka

*sniff* Now it's even sadder!!! Great job capturing the tragic life that is the Winchesters'. Now I gotta go dab my eyes!
Author's Response: Oh dear, another one in tears... Glad that you still found the time to review and send me some stars! *holds out a tissue* Thanks! Ilka

This is sooo sad, I have a little lump in my throat, I know what it feels like to want your mum back for Xmas. Great little story and again, I loved this letter. Mary xx
Author's Response: Oh dear. Sorry for that. I mean it's cool that you could relate to Dean and Bobby. But I didn't want you to remember sad things in your own life. Sorry. Thanks again. For reading and reviewing. Hugs, Ilka

Too much talent for one person to have it is just not fair! *pouts* Seriously, this is great, I love it! Mary xx
Author's Response: Oi! No reason for poutin! I would gladly be talented in ONE of these arts enough to concentrate my real life on that. Sadly, I am not. Thanks for the stars hun, off to your next review... awesome. Ilka

Know I'm crying! Poor Dean, and poor Bobby too! Loved it! Dany
Author's Response: Hey Dany. Thanks for R&R'ing! I'm sorry I made you cry--- wait. Maybe not. I love sad and angsty fics (reading and writing them). Plus: the only way I can think of Dean at that age and Bobby during that one long hot and desperate summer is of them being soooo sad. Broken. Glad you liked it and thx for the shinies! ~RC

I did like this. You did an excellent job on the Letter From Santa for this challenge.
Author's Response: Thanks again. I am glad you liked it and left me two reviews. It was fun to do (that sounds mean, but hey, angst is fun). Cheers, ~RC

Very creative way to do a letter from a younger Dean.
Author's Response: Hey Marlana, well it was the only way to make it work. Looked odd writing it in the usual fashion! Thx for the starsies! ~RC

Author's Response: Well then I consider my destiny fulfilled! Hehehehe.... Seriously, I was going for tears here... lots and lots of tears... guess it worked huh? Thanks for leaving me a comment hun! Hugs, Ilka

Good greif woman - Are you trying to make people cry or WHAT???? okay- I'm gonna go watch something funny now- like baby seal hunts or something - geesh... you certainly win the award for heartbreaking angst- alright- I guess I have no choice but to Feature this bad boy- two parter heartbreaker- break-out the kleenex tear-fest... Warn a girl- huh??? hahahahhahaa....
Author's Response: WOW. Oh my... Jeez...*is speechless* Just saw the ribbon.... dude... *clears throat* Thanks hun... I didn't expect that. Guess that means more wee!chester sadness from me in the future huh? Topped off with a sad Bobbster? Alrighty... Thanks hun... seriously. Means a lot to me.
Back to the story and your kind words now: you know me, chica! I am always trying to make you guys cry. If I succeed it means the story just about right. baby seal hunts? now... well... compared to the fic you might have a point there. To tell you the truth, I did tear up myself when I wrote this second part... *sniffle* Um. So, you think I should put a warning there? I did put one on the second chappie... Not enough? *scratches chin* I think I owe you a box of kleenex and Dean for one night now... sending them to ya tomorrow? That alright? Dean only wearing the kleenex box? Or you want some hurt and gunp*** too?
Hugs you tight (no, I dont normally hug this much... but the feature and all those tears you and I shed over this sad thing kinda call for a special huggin ceremony. It's like with Bon Jovi. Hugs rock. On occasion.). Ilka

Dude... I'm still choked up... Not sure anyone can capture a traumatized 6 year old's possible letter- but you did! Awesome! Tree
Author's Response: Aw... well, I just wrote what I think he felt. This is how I see him all the time at that age. Sad but innocent. Believing miracles. Too bad that after that particular Xmas he changed... *holds out tissue* here... have a freebie Hugs, Ilka

And you were afraid you wouldn't have time....I have to say that the last line really brings this home. I've got the chills now....
Author's Response: And I dont have the time. I would rather work on my Cas letter than working for my dad right now... Dang it. There is always the night... Mean last line, ain't it? Didn't plan on it to be there. Just wrote itself. Hugs and congrats on the feature again! So proud! Finally, you get the acclaim you deserve! Hugs, Ilka

This is amazing! Please relay my compliments to the artist. I had this sudden wave of nostalgia hit me...it's been a long time since my kids wrote with a's that looked like that.
Author's Response: Heh, hey you featured author you! Actually I think the girl is called Kiana and I used her drawings... found em on the net. Love the net... and the gal whoever she is. The writing is actually a font I found there too. Glad you liked it!

I feel a tear in my eye. Actually way more than one. Sniff. Poor Bobby, poor Dean. Sniff. Where's the tissues?
Author's Response: Aw, oh dear. Is it a nasty thing to say I am glad this one worked too? Was going for the tears here, I know, and usually Xmas should be a happy time. But there is something about this lil boy and the life he is about to lead that always makes me sad. Even on Xmas. *hands a tissue* Here hun, have one of mine! Ilka

Well I wasn't expecting that. The format certainly surprised me, so original - well done. I can't imagine Tree not liking it. PS. I managed to read and understand it all without the benefit of the transcript. Off to read the epilogue now and wondering what sort of surprise I'm in for with that.
Author's Response: So it worked! Cool, was gonna type it but it felt odd to have the letter in normal writing. hadda capture the little boy more vividly. Thx for the stars! Ilka
