What an awesome little one-shot. I love it- its almost too bad this didnt really happen in the show this way.... it would have been a beautiful way for them to have come back together- not to mention that it fed my addiction to some lovely Hurt!Dean...
I also adored your Castiel- I think you painted him so perfectly it was if he just jumped off the paged. I could see him standing there - so strongly silent- watching over the scene- yet orchestrating it all along..
Again- just lovely!

Beautiful. I like Sammy being in the first person, especially in regards to his tenuous relationship with Cas. Great job!

Well done! I like how Sam is afraid of what Dean will do when he finds out he's there but that actually seems to be the best medicine of all for Dean.

That was heartbreakingly beautiful.
I ached for Sam, for his lonliness, his longing and fear, and his despair at how things had gotten so fractured. I think I experienced every one of his emotions right alongside of him in this story, including the fear that almost choked him as Dean finally started to wake up.
And I loved Cas' stubborn, quiet insistence throughout - "Your brother needs you."
They do need each other - angels, demons and destinies be damned. They're stronger together.
This was an awesome tale. Thank you so much for sharing this.
