Just realised I never left a review for this one!

I like the mirroring stories and actually think you nailed Sam's POV even better than Dean's (which probably reflects your growing empathy for our floppy-haired fave!).

The loneliness they both feel and their joint dependencies are nicely rendered...

Author's Response: Thanks AMB.  I actually thought Sam's POV was better also but wasn't sure what to attribute it to.  Empathy works for me!  :)  To me, both these boys are some of the most tragic characters ever.

Loved the almost mirror images of grief that both brothers showed at their parting. And their vow - "We've got work to do," declared at the end of their respective meltdowns as they finally pulled themselves back together.

Could really feel the ache in Sam's heart at leaving Dean, and his despair that it had come to this. His self-loathing came through loud and clear as well.

That was a heart-wrenching scene to watch, and you've done great justice to the brothers and their emotions in the aftermath of their separation.

Thank you for sharing this.

Jules

Author's Response:

Thank you so much for all of your kind words!

I always believed that it had taken all the strength Dean had to let Sam walk away. That look in his eyes as he followed his brother's every step to the Impala and then into a stranger's car - that spoke volumes about the inner struggle he was having.

You've captured the thoughts and turbulent emotions of Dean's very well - thank you for that. Moving on to Sam's pov.

Jules

Author's Response: Thanks!  Some people seemed so mad at Dean for pushing Sam away but for once Dean wasn't doing that.  If you love something, sometimes you have to let it go but there was no doubt in my mind that Dean didn't really want to do that.

Oh....the empty bed :(  Sammy does have work to do to get himself back on track, that's for sure.  Good job!

Author's Response: I still think Sam may have more work to do to get himself back on track.  I don't think his struggle is over yet.  Thanks for the review!

So sad.  I like that Dean and the Impala had to leave and "work" together.  Nice job!

Author's Response: Thanks Terri.  This is one of my personal faves. :)
