Yay....I could just picture Dean having fun with that. Well, they have help, of a sort, even though it's the obtuse kind. But I think Dean's right - Tony doesn't seem to like them very much. I'm wondering now what he'll do, since he seems disappointed with the calibre of 'warrior' the Winchesters present. But he's really not seeing them at their best, is he? Here's hoping that he comes back with a little more information. Jules

The shooting lesson for young Sammy was a lovely moment between the brothers, showcasing the natural teacher that Dean is. Echoes in the mechanical lesson that the adult Dean gave to Sam at the end of the Season 3 episode Fresh Blood. Two things made me chuckle a bit, though. The first was Sam trying to catch up with his taller brother. I couldn't help thinking, just a few more years, Sammy, and then you'll be wondering how Dean will keep up with you - lol. The second was Dean's comment to Sammy that information was important. So, it was really Dean who turned Sam into a geek, eh? LOL. And the mystery of the cave deepens. No water can enter, but it doesn't look the boys can leave any time soon, either. Things is grim. Jules

Whew Jane- you finally got them out of the cave, but there were a few heart -stopping moments along the way! I'm going to need a nice calming cup of tea after all that trauma and skin of their teeth escaping.... Great chapter and it's good to see the brothers' banter and snark surviving their misadventures.
Author's Response: Hi Alena, Yeah, they made it out and more or less in one piece!! You go chill with your cup of tea whilst relaxing for the rest of the story, cause honest we wont hurt em again!! (You can trust us - NOT!!) I'm delighted you enjoyed the great escape and it'll take more than a cave monster to make them lose their snark!! Hope your back's feeling a bit better, take it easy hun! Jane x

Hello there Ilka! Nice Chapter- lots of hurt and soggy Dean and brotherly moments. Poor Dean is really taking a pasting and I liked the way Sam keeps supporting Dean while allowing his brother to keep up his big brother image. The escape up the decomposing pile of victims- lovely image and followed by the cold swim fest... and you've left them very cold, wet and surrounded by floating thingies.... Thanks for a great chapter Ilka

Oh Cal - I just read this chapter and it was FANTASTIC. I love how you finished it! A gorgeous chapter and having Coyote watching them at the end was - well, chills went up my spine. We did good! Very very good. And we got ultra supercool banners and posted a fine story. It was a blast! Phoebe

Cal, lovely last chapter. I feel at ease now. Poor guys have been through a lot (as they should of course, no point in writing them without a little torment, is there?). Your chap just rounded everything off nicely. I love the color descriptions in this one. They set the mood very subtly and beautifully. The full scale of the rainbow, like a picture. And just the right thing for our boys after this ordeal. Almost like in a western, where the cowboys ride off into the sunset. Only, Sam and Dean are stumbling and staggering (yum!) towards the Impala. And man, they had a real chick flick moment here, huh? It gave me the creeps when you had Sam warn Dean that one day, big bro would go too far and Sam won't be able to save his skin. Instant image: NRFTW...ugh. I loved the sharing and caring moments, they were soft and not too cheesy. Just the right amount of emotions to make em real and bearable for me and the boys. AWESOME. very funny tid bit: Did it look cool like in the movies? ONLY Dean ... and dude, you so quoted one of your least fav epis there. Heehee. Weird. LOL.
Man, looking back, this has truly been an awesome ride and I wanna thank you for inviting me to be part of it. I also wanna thank the others for suffering me and making this great story such a blast. And last but not least, I agree, this site is truly special in the world of SPN-fanfic and I am glad I could show my gratitude to those who run it and those who we all can't do without. The readers. You guys rock! All of you! Hugs the RR'ers, Tree, Steph, Dawn, readers and reviewers. Okay. That was my own special chick flick moment of the year 2010- I swear I won't do it again. Night-night! Ilka

wow, OMG I effing love this chapter Phoebe! You did a marvelous, amazing and brilliant job here. Tying all those weird loose ends together and weaving them into a strong and tense showdown. AWESOME. Man, I am breathless here, sweaty hands and all. GREAT. I love how you made the fight into a battle of wills. How Dean was confronted with all-things-crappy-and-sucky and still kept coming, how he didn't waver or crumble. So like him. May I just quote Galaxy Quest here? Never give up, never surrender! YAY, Dean for the win. I also loved caring and protective Sam. And I am sure Dean wouldn't have been able to win if he hadn't felt Sam's presence on some subconscious level. Sam anchoring him, lending him strength. Geez, there is so much in this chapter I adore... And one more thing: thanks for taking them back to the bone dome. Reading about the mound of rotten meat and bones is a very nauseating experience and different from writing it. LOL. Great twists in this chapter, too. Turning Coyote in his canine appearance and having Dean possessed by Tony were only two of countless treats. I can only hope Cal is gonna take care of Dean's horrendous compound fracture. Man, this guy has been through the wringer in this story, hasn't he? But I am not complaining. Hurt Dean is just yummy. Anyhoo, I feel honored to have been part of this great adventure and seeing my name next to yours and those of the others just means a great deal to me. Thanks for your imagination! Hugs, Ilka

Thanks guys, I enjoyed the ride through the caves and the Navajo legends...and of course, Sam was right " It's gonna kill you one day, Dean. You stand in front of me, in front of everyone, every time, and one day, I won't be able to save you"

I have been soooo tardy in reviewing lately and for that I am so sorry. RL has been a bit hectic. To Mel, Phoebe and Cal... I promise I will come back and review your individual chapters properly- but I wanted to ( before any further time elapsed) - be sure to say how much I have ENJOYED and ADORED this story... it has been so seemlessly crafted ( as I've said many times before) and I'm amazed at how you all have pulled that off- coming from such diverse styles and POV's. I am HUMBLED that you chose to dedicate this to us and the site. And I'm grateful that you appreciate the work and committment that goes into keeping things up and running around here. I'm glad you love UnGen as much as I do and please know that your efforts are always appreciated on my part as well. As for this story... what can I say... the mythology was just unbelievable... and the HURT!!! OMG.... I hung on every delightful word of it.... every blood drop,... every groggy Dean syllable, every angsty-filled Sam sentence! I literally couldnt want for an update and I found myself looking back at the main poster to see "who" was up next... Oh and dudes- you gave me some of the most delectable GUN PORN- I think I've EVER read in fiction! I'm seriously sad to see it have to come to an end... oh and last but not least... the characterizations were just sooooo spot on... but then... considering all involved... I never doubted that for a moment. So! Thanks so much for the wonderful ride! Its Wednesday- and you tided me over beautifully till tomorrow night!...

This was an absolute masterclass in how to tie lots of disparate story threads from many different authors into one nice neat tidy bow. You did an absolutely incredible job of bringing everything together in one chapter, Phoebe, providing a satisfying explanation for everything that had happened previously in the story. I think you managed to reference every chapter that had come before somehow! I honestly didn't think such a tidy climactic chapter was possible but you did it, and you did it with style. Well done on giving the story the coherent (almost) ending it deserved!

Beautiful chapter - now if only you had not tied Sam's hands behind him. I had this great idea that depended on the hands being tied in front of him... LOL. This was sad and of course wonderful when you pushed Dean into the abyss - bless you. Not enough cursing though - funny that! ROFL Phoebe

I adored this chapter - it really helped me figure out how to start the wrap up in Ch 12. Beautiful description of the Yei dancing, stunning really, Dean's visions, and Sam holding him. Sighs. Of course, Melanie and I turned out to both be just a teensy weensy bit unsure of Ted! YAY. Phoebe
Author's Response: Hey phoebe. Thank you - very kind words. And yes, my poor Ted! heehee bev x
